The three volcanoes on the remote island chain of Alaska have erupted at the same time for more than a week. NBC reports.
Two volcanoes located 800 miles long on the Aleutian island chain are emitting low concentrations of ash and steam.
Other volcanoes, including Pavlov, Great Sitkin, and Semisopočnoi, are at the orange threat level, which indicates that the eruption is in progress.
However, due to its remote location, the volcanic eruption currently poses no threat to any nearby communities. According to NBC reports, they have not interrupted air travel either.

This area is also known as the “Ring of Fire”. It is not uncommon to experience volcanic eruptions because it is located on the edge of the Pacific Ocean, where many earthquakes and volcanic eruptions occur in the world.
“Alaska has many volcanoes, and we usually see an eruption once a year on average,” Matthew Lowen, a research geologist at the Alaska Volcano Observatory, told NBC News. “Three eruptions at a time are not very common, but it does happen.”
Scientists continue to closely monitor the volcano for signs of change.
According to the US Geological Survey, a magnitude 6.9 earthquake struck the coast of the Alaska Peninsula early on Saturday morning.
Despite the large scale of the earthquake, no tsunami warning was issued.
