Meta Properties owns three of the top five
Meta Platforms, formerly Facebook, Inc., had the second, third and fourth most downloaded apps in the first quarter.
Instagram was knocked out, but still has over 150 million downloads.
Facebook came in third with more than 150 million, and Meta’s messaging platform WhatsApp came in fourth with 125 million downloads.
Multi-platform messaging service Telegram is in the top five with more than 100 million downloads.

Instagram is also one of the few apps to surpass TikTok in downloads in specific categories, such as Google Play global downloads and Asia overall.
