Tropical storm heading northeast Japan It is expected to bring heavy rain, strong wind and big waves to the Tokyo area, and have already affected some Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games event.
The Japan Meteorological Agency predicts that Nepartak will bring stormy weather and large waves to the northeastern part of Japan before it will land on the northeast of Japan’s capital region around noon on Wednesday.
The agency said that around noon on Tuesday, the tropical storm had a wind speed of 44.7 mph near Chiba on the east-central coast of Japan and was slowly moving northwest. It predicts that the storm will maintain its current intensity during the day, but will weaken, and then make landfall near Akita City, about 340 miles northeast of Tokyo, around noon on Wednesday.
