The chief executive of the British Swimming Association, Jack Buckner, said he was “happy” with Daley’s bronze medal, adding that the diver had “experienced a lot of behind-the-scenes”.
Daly revealed that he could not walk a few weeks after undergoing knee surgery in June, and admitted that he was even trying to go to Japan.
