Trudeau has been participating in the election campaign after calling for a general election in mid-August. His goal is to win a majority government for his Liberal Party.
Protesters gathered in political activities to oppose Canada’s COVID-19 vaccine regulations and other restrictions.
In late August, Trudeau had planned to speak to supporters in Bolton, Ontario, but the event was cancelled due to security issues.
Similar incidents have led to harassment of other government and health officials, as well as some restaurant owners and health workers.
During the Montreal campaign, Trudeau said: “No one should work under threats of violence or behavior that puts them at risk.” “But it’s not just political rallies that happen.”
Trudeau pushed for the enforcement of vaccines, which was a key issue in the September 20 election. Conservative Party leader Erin O’Toole hopes that 90% of eligible Canadians will be fully vaccinated, and provide employees with paid leave and transportation services.
Trudeau today has very different messages about the protests and the gravel throwing.
Yesterday: “It’s no big deal.”
Today: “This is absolutely unacceptable” People throw things at political gatherings and endanger others. #cdnpoli https://t.co/YMJatliCCX— Mary Ke Walsh (@MariekeWalsh) September 7, 2021
