Trump’s pastor who was “divided” and fired before CPAC speech downplayed the importance of science

Before the former president Donald Trump Sent his address Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) On Sunday, in Orlando, Florida, the “divided” Catholic priest Father James Altman took the stage to pray for God’s blessings to the meeting, condemning the abolition of culture and downplaying the importance of science.

Two days ago, he was suspended from preaching and was relieved of his post as the pastor of the church in Wisconsin.

Last week, Ultraman was fired by the Bishop of La Crosse, William Callahan, and was forbidden to preach or celebrate Mass in any place, except in private. Altman was also instructed to conduct a 30-day spiritual retreat to “make it possible for him to mentally heal, recharge and solve the problems that led to the promulgation of the decree.” Altman was also banned from “exercising the functions of a priest.”

Altman appeared in CPAC on the subject of “America Not Cancelled”, which seemed to violate these terms.

“Send your spirit,” Altman prayed to the audience gathered at CPAC, “watering on us like dew on the Israelis wandering in their time and place in the desert. Nourish and strengthen us with this grace, The faith, family, and country that make us such witnesses the whole world will know that we will not be cancelled.”

In recent months, Altman has caused controversy for publicly violating COVID-19 quarantine rules during the lockdown, calling the coronavirus pandemic a “scam” and discrediting vaccination efforts.

“Our help is in the name of God, he really created the world, and this is all the science we need to know,” Altman told CPAC attendees. It is not clear whether he is alluding to COVID-19 vaccination, although this is a topic of discussion at the event.

In April, a page in Altman’s former church announcement stated, “Anyone who signals virtue/humiliates/forces you to take this experimental drug to make you a guinea pig is demonic”, it seems Refers to the COVID -19 vaccine. The statement said: “God is still the best doctor, and prayer is still the best medicine.”

Altman had previously been asked to voluntarily resign from his post as the pastor of St. James’ Church, and was eventually dismissed reluctantly. In recent months, his “division and invalidity” behavior has been repeatedly warned, which has aroused his national attention.

After Altman appeared in the video sermon, he was widely known among the far-right Christians, “You can’t be a Catholic, and you can’t be a Democrat. Period.”

“Repent for your support for the party, or you will face the fire of hell,” he said. Altman also slandered American immigrants in the same video.

After praying to the CPAC audience, Ultraman later returned to the stage to answer questions about faith and society.
