The association requires that summer vacations should be used to allow all schools to adapt to the possible return of alternate classes, for example by installing fast internet.

DThe German Teachers’ Association calls on the federal and state governments to consider the Delta variant and prepare for the new phase of alternate school teaching in the fall. “The first scenario, which we all hope to become a reality, is comprehensive face-to-face teaching. The safety phase lasts for several weeks. During this phase, we continue to implement enhanced health protection measures,” said Medinger of the German Editor Network.

But this is not enough to stop the fourth wave, because the delta variant can also spread outside the school through contact between unvaccinated young people. Therefore, when preparing for the next school year, there should be no shortage of “the renewal phase of alternate courses.” Therefore, all schools that do not have fast internet should be equipped with it during the holidays.
