  • ground turkey – Make sure the mixture is completely thawed before preparing it.

How to Make Roasted Turkey Meatballs

Make sure the meatballs are evenly sized so they are fully cooked when you remove them from the oven. Scroll to the bottom of the post to see the full recipe card.

  • Prepare the oven. Preheat oven to 400F. Grease a baking sheet with cooking spray. You can also line it with parchment paper.
  • Make the mixture. Combine all meatball ingredients in a large bowl until well combined.
  • Shape them. Grab the ground turkey mixture and roll into 2-inch balls. Spread them out on a greased baking sheet.
  • Bake and serve. Place them in the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until lightly browned on the outside and no longer pink on the inside. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Tips and variations

Adding some salty feta cheese and creamy aioli or pesto to these roasted turkey meatballs is an easy way to change up dinner.

  • Use the stove. If you don't want to turn on the oven, place a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add a tablespoon of olive oil. Add the meatballs to the pan without overcrowding the skillet. Cover and cook for 3-4 minutes. Shake skillet and cook for another 2-3 minutes. Remove lid and cook for final 2-3 minutes or until no longer pink in center.
  • Let them be Greeks. Add 2 teaspoons fresh dill and 1/4 cup crumbled feta cheese to the mixture for some Greek flavor.

  • Season them. Stir 2 teaspoons chili powder, 1/4 teaspoon mustard powder, and 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning into turkey mixture for added depth.
  • Fill them. Before baking, add 1 teaspoon cream cheese, goat cheese, or mozzarella cheese to the center of each meatball. Roll a little and seal the area again until smooth. Bake as usual.

Can I freeze these?

Absolutely! Eat them raw or cook them and freeze them. Place the uncooked meatballs on a baking sheet and freeze until firm. Transfer to freezer bags. Bake directly after freezing, but add 5-10 minutes to the baking time. If they are already cooked, place them in a freezer bag once they have cooled. Both raw and cooked meatballs can be stored for up to 3 months.

How to store and reheat leftovers

Store it within 30-40 minutes after baking to prevent spoilage, especially if it's hot outside.

  • refrigerator: Store them in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
  • To reheat them: Place them in the microwave and heat in 20 second increments until hot. For large portions, bake in a 300 degree F oven for 20 minutes.

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F.
