The company launched a community trial version, a new feature that allows members to send tweets directly to the group instead of all followers.

“There are always wide-ranging, weird and wonderful conversations on Twitter, but we haven’t done enough to help connect people who share the same thing,” said David Regan, Twitter’s employee product manager.
“Starting today, we are testing the community, which is an easy way to find and connect with people who want to talk about the same things you do.”
The company said the trial will help it develop methods to identify potentially problematic community groups that people might try to create in the future.
During the research phase, Twitter also promised to cooperate with external experts and its trust and safety committee to ensure people’s safety.
This feature can be accessed through the tabs at the bottom of the iOS app and the sidebar of the Twitter website-currently, Android users can only read community tweets from the app.
Anyone in the world can be invited to join the community through direct messaging.
