Christine Vox Today won his first test cap in more than a year, as England made two changes in the fourth of the five games against India in this exciting series, and India was absent again. Ravi Chandran Ashwin.

After England’s full victory at Headingley Stadium on Saturday, the series was fully prepared with a score of 1-1, with newly promoted first test batter Joe Root winning the game on the Kia Oval. He won and chose to bowl first on a green-looking surface under a lead gray sky but it looked a bit dry underneath. England made two changes.

One of them was enforced, and Jos Butler was absent due to paternity leave. In XI, he was replaced by Ollie Pope, Jonny Bairstow replaced the goalkeeper, and Moeen Ali replaced Root’s deputy captain.

In his hometown, Pope returned to England for the first time in this series. He has a lot to prove.

Since his breakthrough series in South Africa in 2020, his career has been interrupted by shoulder and thigh injuries, and in the past eight tests, he has not achieved half a century of results. However, it is impossible for him to return in a better venue. He averaged 101 points per game in 15 first-class games on the Oval.

Woakes came in eighth, and another Surrey, Sam Curran, had a quiet series. Root said that Woakes “knows his body” and although he proved his health in a Vitality Blast appearance, he did well.
