Easy Watermelon Margarita Recipe

This watermelon margarita recipe is so easy and refreshing. Made with only fresh ingredients and naturally sweet thanks to watermelon and lime juice, it’s perfect when you’re craving something light, fresh and a little boozy!

materials needed:

  • ice: Use more or less as needed to cool the watermelon margarita.
  • Watermelon Juice: We are making fresh watermelon juice from mixed and strained watermelon chunks.
  • booze: a few ounces Tequila and an ounce of Cointreau create the perfect base for our margaritas.
  • Lime Juice: Freshly squeezed lime juice is my favorite, but store bought will work too! This brings a touch of rich freshness to the margarita.
  • Jalapeno (optional): Not required, but jalapeño flakes add delicious heat.

How to Make a Watermelon Margarita

  1. To stir the watermelon: Add fresh seedless watermelon chunks to a blender and blend until smooth. Strain out the pulp (if not using a high-speed blender) to make fresh watermelon juice.
  2. Combine: Add watermelon juice, tequila, lime, Cointreau, ice, and optional jalapeno to the shaker.
  3. shake: Shake well and serve immediately.

Want spicy?

Add a slice or two of fresh jalapenos to the shaker! Remember, the seeds in the jalapeño are the spiciest.
