Webinar: Digital Health of Remote Workforce and the Role of IT

Due to the eagerness to introduce additional technologies to support remote work and expect employees to quickly adopt the technology, there may be complaints and consequences related to technology adoption.

The Quartz study pointed out three key results:

• Productivity interference-continuous pings from colleagues and context switching between applications
• Permanent connection-need to be “always online”
• Decision fatigue-a large number of tools and systems

Each of these consequences of adopting technology affects the emotional health of the team. As a result, 67% of Quartz research respondents believe that “always online” has a major negative impact on their health and well-being. Over time, this can lead to burnout.

The good news is that with the right leadership and the right technology, these consequences can be avoided or overcome.

So what is the role of IT in digital health? At the height of the pandemic, the IT team is the true hero, maintaining employee productivity during uncertain times. But where should the IT team focus now?
As mixed work continues, how can IT best support employees not only to maintain productivity, but also to maintain balance in an “always-on” world.
