What does “mom” mean?Lizzo blasted the racist metaphor after “rumours” strongly opposed

On Friday, after her new single “Rumors” was released, Lizzo lashed out at the troll who called her “Mom”.

Singer, whose real name is Melissa Vivienne Jefferson——A tearful video was shared over the weekend, condemning the terror and racist comments she received online.

The 33-year-old lady then posted a TikTok, commenting on the fact that she was called “mother” by some people.

According to Merriam-Webster’s definition, “mother” is defined as “black women, especially those who worked as nurses for white children in the southern United States”

Lizzo uploaded a TikTok duet with fans, his username is Pablothedon, and he talked about people accusing the rapper of showing his mother’s behavior.

“That’s why I started this song with the reason that’they don’t know I did this for culture’.” “These people who say this may be those who have hypersexuality in me and my mother’s metaphor is actually desexual. People who are angry at the time. So it can’t be both true. Make it make sense,” Lizzo said.

“I think people are just crazy to see a fat black woman and make pop music happy. You are very depressed and I am happy. But this doesn’t even bother me, because Aretha Franklin was founded by the black church when Criticizing her came out, Whitney Houston was booed, and Beyoncé was criticized early in her career.”

She added: “So you know what, the type of music I make, I know I’m making it is great, let it touch the world, I don’t insist on any of these criticisms, because the only person I know I serve is me Own.”

The Jim Crow Museum at Ferris State University further elaborated on this harmful metaphor, explaining that “during slavery, mommy cartoons were assumed to prove that blacks-in this case, black women-were satisfied as slaves. Even happy. Her grin, hearty laughter, and loyal slavery were provided as evidence of the human nature assumed by slavery.”

When the brand recently examined this metaphor through a commercial lens Aunt Jemima changed its name and logo.

“We acknowledge that Aunt Jemima’s origin is based on racial stereotypes,” Quaker Food North America, which owns the Aunt Jemima brand, said in a statement last June.

Lizzo will participate in the 2020 All-British Music Awards at the O2 Arena in London, England, on February 18, 2020.

Many Lizzo fans have already defended her on social media.

“She sang songs about sex, dressed like her small peers, and had a generally funny and fast-paced voice. If you see Lizzo and think about it, you are just telling your mother’s prototype,” read one tweets.

Another added: “It’s time to admit the real reason you see Lizzo as a’mother’. Because she is dark and fat. You only want to represent thin black bodies because you think fat black women belong to mothers. bc ding ding ding…you have obesity.”

At the same time, Lizzo’s collaborators Cardi B also expressed his solidarity with the singer, Tweeted: “This song is in the top 10 on all platforms. Physically humiliating and calling her mom is despicable and racist, fuck.”
