IBPS Clerk Syllabus: Exam Mode

The IBPS clerk exam is no different from other bank exams. It has two papers-the IBPS Clerk Preliminary Exam and the IBPS Clerk Trunk Exam. However, there is no interview for this civilian role. However, it is important to pass two exams to secure the position.

The exam syllabus for the two stages is different. The following is an overview of the IBPS clerk syllabus for the two exams and their parts:

IBPS Clerk Preparatory Exam Syllabus

There are a total of 100 questions in this initial test, with a total score of 100 and a time of 60 minutes:

  • English language – Through 30 questions, you can answer questions about topics such as reading comprehension, cloze test, garbled characters, sentence completion, phrase replacement, error detection, filling in the blank, reasoning, connectors, vocabulary, word usage, etc.
  • Digital capabilities – There are 35 questions designed to test your quantitative skills, including topics such as data interpretation, number series, percentages, time and wages, and probability.
  • Reasoning ability – The other part contains 35 questions about logical reasoning skills, including a series of questions related to advanced puzzles, coding, series, inequalities, syllogisms, etc.

IBPS Clerk Exam Syllabus

The second stage consists of five parts, a total of 190 questions, 200 points, and a duration of 160 minutes:

  1. General/Financial Awareness – There are 50 questions in this section, designed to assess your general knowledge of current affairs and other static knowledge about the banking, economic and financial sectors.
  2. General English – Topics include sentence improvement, formation and reconstruction, word replacement, confusion, matching, filling in the blanks, and vocabulary. There are 40 questions in this section.
  3. Reasoning ability – This section covers a series of different topics, testing your decision-making skills in terms of input and output, blood relationship, analogy, paragraphs and conclusions, sitting posture arrangements, etc.
  4. Computer Skills -Evaluate your basic computer knowledge, including MS Office, shortcut keys, and basic software/hardware and network concepts. There are 50 questions in this part.
  5. Quantitative ability – Important numerical calculation skills, including data interpretation, pie charts, simple and compound interest, permutation and combination, trigonometry, equations, etc.

Except for the English language part, all tests are conducted in English and Hindi. For incorrect answers, there will be an applicable negative mark of 0.25 points.It is important to clear the cross-section and overall cut-off point determined by the following factors IBPS Eligible for selection every year.
