A mother threw her child to safety before a mudslide hit their home in China, saving the girl’s life, but died in the process.

BBC report On Wednesday, the baby girl was rescued from the rubble in Wangzongdian, Henan Province.

She stayed there for about 24 hours.

According to the BBC, she was taken to the hospital and was not harmed. The media said she was about three or four months old.

According to a BBC report, a rescuer named Mr. Yang told reporters: “At that critical moment, she picked up the child. This is why the baby girl survived.

A family member told the Southern Metropolis Daily: “I heard the voice of the baby when rescuers had just arrived and managed to save the child. She was thrown to a higher place by her mother,” the BBC reported.

Henan has experienced heavy rains and frequent floods. At least 33 people Has died as of Friday.
