Only murder in the building It is a new suspense comedy series starring Martin Short, Selena Gomez and Steve Martin.
The series takes place in today’s New York and tells the story of three strangers — Charles (Martin), Oliver (Short) and Mabel (Gomez) — They are allied because of their obsession with real crime and the death of a neighbor.

“Only Murder in the Building” episode 1 review
The beginning of this episode is Charles and Martin running down the stairs. When they encounter Mabel hovering on a corpse, they screamed and ran down the stairs. She shouted: “This is not what it looks like!”
Then this episode jumped back to two months ago, when we were officially introduced to the three protagonists of the show and watched them strolling alone on the streets of New York City. On the surface, Charles is a struggling actor, Mabel is a very lonely creator, and Oliver is an eccentric director who likes to drink a glass of wine from time to time.
They may be strangers now, but they hardly know that, due to the strangest circumstances, their lives are about to be intertwined.
Then, the three met in the elevator of the apartment building, and even if a tall young man in a suit (later revealed to be Tim) walked in, he barely said a word to each other.
Tim was on the phone, and the conversation seemed tense. Later he suspected it was about collecting a package named Rabbit from a neighbor.
That night, the trio continued to lead an ordinary life, but they were connected by one thing— A real crime podcast titled “Everything is Bad in Oklahoma”.
As they listened attentively, when the podcast was about to reveal what the suspicious object was in the dog’s (named Beau) mouth, the building’s fire alarm went off.

Our favorite trio coincidentally reunited in a restaurant, and they waited to re-enter the building and discuss their coincidences with real crime podcasts, and the secrets of their blog.
When they returned to try to re-enter their apartment building, a body was found on the ninth floor. Mabel instructed that they decided to take the freight elevator to the eighth floor instead of staying outside in order to “avoid the police on the ninth floor.” It doesn’t sound like Mabel’s first crime scene.
Inspired by “Nothing is OK in Oklahoma”, the three decided to take the work of police detectives into their own hands and went to the trash room to search the bags, where they found several suicide notes in the trash can—but Did they do this? Belongs to Tim?
At the same time, Charles, Oliver and Selena’s fascination with real crimes continued, leading them to establish their own real crime podcast to investigate Tim’s murder. They aptly named it “the only murder in the building” (note the plural form of murder), foreshadowing what is about to happen.

1. Mabel
Mabel has some very interesting but disturbing things.
First, when we first saw her, she was sitting next to a dead body, covered in blood.
She lives in an empty apartment with sketches of human faces hanging on the walls. She is either an artist or a sketch of her victim. There is no way to know for now.
Mabel also talked about her often having nightmares, stabbing a man under her bed with a knitting needle. She also talked affectionately about her childhood with Charles and became part of a group of friends known as the “Hardy Boys”, where they will solve the mystery of imagination.
The biggest clue that Mabel is the murderer is at the end of the episode, when a photo in her apartment showed her standing side by side with the murder victim Tim, looking like a graduation ceremony. The picture says: “My Hardy Boy” suggests that the pair are not just classmates.

Mabel has a neighbor named Bunny, and Tim tries to retrieve a package from her.
After breaking into her apartment, Charlie and Mabel took the package and opened it to reveal a huge diamond ring.
Unfortunately, it was not revealed why the diamond ring was in an oversized cardboard box, nor did it reveal any special information about the rabbit, but she apparently had some connection with the murder victim, so it is understandable that the suspect cannot be ruled out.

4. Oliver
Currently, Oliver is the most unlikely suspect in this murder, depending on his chaotic but lovely personality.
Oliver seems to be too focused on getting along with his family and becoming friends with Charles and Mabel, not even thinking about killing another person’s life.
However, Oliver may hide in a conspicuous place. After all, he knew the apartment building from the inside out, and even told his son that this was the only thing he really cared about.
