Report by Politico The United States’ early knowledge of suicide attacks has now caused a sensation, because a reporter asked about it, and the Pentagon spokesman John Kirby refused to answer relevant questions.
Intelligence communications reports show that the United States generally knows when and where the Kabul airport will be attacked, and even knows the gate where the attack took place—the monastery gate is at the “highest risk”.
In a separate call in Kabul that day at 4 pm or at 12.30 am on Thursday, the commander detailed the plan to close the monastery gates by Thursday afternoon, Kabul time. But the Americans decided to keep the gate open longer than they wanted, so that their British allies could continue to evacuate their personnel at the nearby Baron Hotel, and they have accelerated their retreat schedule.
At around 6 pm on Thursday, the US military was still dealing with immigrants at Kabul’s Monastery Gate Airport, when a suicide bomber detonated his explosive vest there, killing nearly 200 people, including 13 American soldiers.
According to Politico, Pentagon spokesperson John Kirby declined to answer questions about the matter, and they also issued a statement.
“The U.S. roughly knows where and when the attack took place on Thursday. How could there be U.S. troops at that gate at that time?”

Pentagon spokesperson John Kirby said in a statement: “This story is based on the illegal disclosure of confidential information and internal deliberation of the sensitive nature.” “Once we learn about the material leaked to reporters, we will proceed with the highest level of Politico. Contacts to prevent the release of information that may expose our forces and our operations at the airport to greater risks.
“We condemn the illegal disclosure of confidential information and oppose publishing stories based on confidential information while dangerous operations are underway,” he continued.
Kirby was angry at this disclosure, but he did not deny the report.
This is simply surprising. I still want to save people, and of course I do my best. But they seem to keep closing the gates for other reasons. When you have intelligence that seems to be of this specific nature, why not redirect to a lower-risk gate or close the gate of the monastery for a few hours?
When so many people, including 13 American troops, were killed and so many others were injured, he tried to evade this question without answering, but he could not be allowed to do so. Someone made this call and they need to answer what happened here.
