YouTube’s keyword research tool is available to everyone this month

YouTube Search Insights, a tool designed to reveal valuable keyword data, is rolling out to all channels later this month.

The launch comes after a limited beta period that began in November, when YouTube gave everyone a preview Expectations for Search Insights.

YouTube hasn’t significantly changed Search Insights since it rolled out to select users a few months ago.

If you are part of a test group, you can continue to use the tool in the way you are used to.

For those visiting Search Insights for the first time, here’s more about what it is and how it can help create more successful content.

What are YouTube Search Insights?

YouTube Search Insights is designed to assist content planning by providing data that can be used to create more relevant content.

Search Insights displays data that tells you what your specific audience is searching for.

Additionally, you can get data on what the wider YouTube audience is searching for by looking up keywords to see estimated search volumes.

If a keyword has high search volume but relatively few relevant results, Search Insights will refer to it as content gap.

Content gaps are a great opportunity to provide audiences with content they don’t get enough of.

Depending on your niche, you may be able to create a full content plan around targeting keywords with content gaps.

The data in Search Insights is based on what users searched for in the past 28 days.

How do I access YouTube Search Insights?

Search insights in the Research tab YouTube studio on the desktop.

You can do this by logging into YouTube Studio and clicking analyze in the left navigation menu.

Navigate from there to Research tab and look for the section titled “Your Audience’s Search”.

On this screen, you can access data about what your viewers are searching for, as well as data about what YouTube viewers in general are searching for.

First, you’ll see a list of popular keywords that your audience and audiences similar to you are searching for.

Search Insights will show the keyword’s search volume level (low, medium, or high) and the number of views your channel has received from searches for that keyword in the past 28 days.

click “Search volume on YouTube” It will take you to a screen where you can find search data for general topics and specific keywords.

You can even filter the results to show only content gaps if that’s your main interest.

anyhow

YouTube Search Insights is a good starting point for keyword research and finding your next video idea.

A few points to note:

  • It only works with English search terms (YouTube is working on making it available in more languages).
  • It only shows queries from users in the US, UK, Canada, Australia and India.
  • It can only be accessed on the desktop.

The tool will be available for all channels by the end of April.
