As you may know, we recently adopted a Staffie Cross Vintage Bulldog named Bruce and he is just a darling.
He has obviously been abused in his past life and was a little frustrated as you would expect, but he is very much loved now and a big part of our family.
He’s funny, he’s silly, and it feels like he’s been with us for years. If you’re considering a new pet, I can definitely recommend considering a rescue center.
These are just 4 of the many reasons why adopting a pet is a great thing to do.
Provide a loving home
Whether you welcome rescue horses into your stableor bringing a dog into your home, adopting a pet gives them the second chance they deserve.
Rescued animals often suffer unimaginable pain and neglect. By adopting animals in need, you are actually providing them with a lifeline. A chance to be happy and loved as they deserve.
they give unconditional love
I think a bond with any pet is wonderful, but there is something special about connecting with a rescue pet. I know our Bruce has so much love to give. He was snuggling with the kids on the couch, he followed us around the house, he protected his home like you wouldn’t believe it!Bruce takes his neighborhood watch Very seriously!
Cut off puppy farms and illegal breeders
Sadly, there are still some people who use animals for profit. Animals are kept in horrific conditions and bred again and again. It’s horrific that sick animals are not receiving veterinary care and the list goes on.
Saving a dog means you don’t finance such an illegal trade and hope to stop it together eventually.
Pets are good for your physical and mental health
Having a pet is beneficial in many ways. Here are just a few –
- they bring happiness
- Reduce stress levels and anxiety
- They make great exercise partners (depending on what you use!)
- friendship
Would you consider adopting a pet? Or maybe you already have! I would love to hear it in the comments.
