There is a reason for the drama we saw at the committee hearing on January 6.
As shown on the day, This is not about investigating or delving into the truth, but about presenting an emotional case to demonize President Donald Trump and more than 74 million Trump supporters.
If this is not clear enough, if you don’t understand the message that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) wants you to take away by mid-2022, then New York Times reporter Katie Benner made it clear for you in a series of tweets It clearly illustrates this point.
Benner said on Twitter that the committee hearing “emphasized” the ongoing threats within the country. She said that there is a national security “dilemma” and Trump’s supporters should be regarded as “enemies of the country.”
“Today’s #January6thSelectCommittee emphasizes the current and basic natsec dilemma in the United States: the current work to combat legitimate national security threats requires calling politicians’ supporters the enemies of the country,” Benner wrote.
Benner explained: “As Americans, we believe that state power should not be used against politicians or parties. But what happens if a politician seems to threaten the country? If this politician continues to do so while in office, And his entire party supports this threat?”
A reporter from the Justice Department of The Times expressed doubts that the committee appointed by Pelosi could resolve the “dilemma” because it remained “unresolved” after the Russian investigation and President Trump’s two impeachments.
“It will depend on the voters. It is more important to make free and fair participation in opinion polls,” Benner concluded.
When you declare that all Republicans and half of the country are “enemies of the state,” some problems arise. Not only that, it is the entire package. Trump’s supporters are a national security threat, and they must “strike hard.” Oops. But this is where the people on the left have been going, literally demonizing everyone on the other side and saying they need to be dealt with.
The Democrats know they are in trouble and the 2022 election is coming, so they now fully support Orwellian opposition to the opposition.
It caused a lot of backlash on social media. Therefore, Benner deleted these tweets, saying that the deleted tweets were “unclear”.

Unfortunately, the tweets are clear and this is indeed the reason she deleted them.
Hearing anyone describe a traumatic and violent experience will stir emotions: even for the police. This is the purpose of today.
But the focus on 1/6 is precisely this: for the sake of political interests and security of national power, Trump’s supporters are classified as enemies of the country.

Pelosi declined to participate in Rep. Jim Banks (R-IN) on the January 6 committee because he was asking questions about security failures, summarizing this point.
“Now, the work of combating legitimate national security threats requires calling Trump’s supporters the enemies of the country.”
This is the best summary of the domestic national security strategy of the Biden administration that I have read. https://t.co/9rs9tpLlAk
