The conservative prime minister brought some unexpected frivolity to a gloomy event when he was fighting an umbrella publicly on a dull day in Staffordshire.
At a ceremony to commemorate the death of a policeman on duty on Wednesday, Prince Charles was sitting next to him. Prince Charles was curled up under a big black umbrella. He decided to follow the prince’s footsteps.
After trying to open the umbrella, the Prime Minister seemed to think twice and handed the device to Priti Patel, the Secretary of the Interior sitting in a row behind him.
After Patel rejected his proposal, the umbrella suddenly collapsed. Johnson tried to reopen it, only to be blown over by a gust of wind.
This caught the attention of Prince Charles, and he, Patel and others laughed with Johnson. A guard standing nearby suppressed a smile.
