Grant Shapps: Covid vaccine passport will remain a “permanent” fixture for overseas holidays

“I hosted a meeting with my transportation counterparts [in other countries]When I talked to them, it became clear that dual vaccination would be a requirement, and we have seen it in almost every country in the world.

“If you have not been vaccinated yet, please get vaccinated. Unless you are medically exempted, you will need to be vaccinated to travel in the future.”

Many governments around the world require foreigners to perform double stabs before entering the country.

Mr. Sharps spoke after announcing further adjustments to the British traffic light system, which put France on the amber list starting on Sunday.

Austria, Germany, Slovenia, Slovakia, Latvia, Romania and Norway have joined the green list that allows unrestricted travel.

He said: “My simple message is that we want people to be able to leave, enjoy the vacation they deserve, and know that this is our existing system, and unless there is any unforeseen situation, it will be in the rest of August.

“We did live with the coronavirus long enough to know that it was unpredictable; however, we also endured long enough to get most people vaccinated, and other countries are doing the same thing.
