Representative Liz Cheney (R-WY) stated in a post on Twitter that she is still a neoconservative, in which she lamented that the United States is ending this 20-year war. Afghanistan. It is conceivable that her remarks were met with ridicule and contempt by the people, who realized that staying in the country indefinitely is a foolish thing.
On Monday, Cheney wrote on Twitter:
What is happening in Afghanistan is disastrous. The US military on the ground is cooperating with Afghan forces to prevent terrorists from establishing safe harbors where they can attack us again.
The withdrawal is for terrorists and their allies to take over the country.

Cheney was referring to the fact that the United States is now retreating its soldiers, and the Taliban have begun to seize large tracts of land and fight to regain its supremacy in the region. This Associated Press It was reported on Monday that the terrorist organization had seized control of two other provincial capitals. According to the Associated Press, this marks “the latest development of the Taliban’s weeks of relentless offensive as the U.S. and NATO forces finally withdrew from this war-torn country.”
The response is similar to what you expected. The following is a small sample of criticisms directed at lawmakers:
You have twenty years to win the war in Afghanistan @Liz_CheneyIf you don’t like your results https://t.co/EQzXfa7jqC

Ancient Rome did better than us in many things, which is why their civilization lasted longer than ours. One of the things is that their political leaders lead people into the war. Not at the back. Consuls and senators are often killed in battle. A better system. https://t.co/ygslBUdo9h

When you spend other people’s money and other people’s children are dying, it’s much easier to advocate a war without a mission https://t.co/ws2P1hWtlI

The Taliban will not attack us. It is not 2002 anymore. We don’t have to occupy a country forever to monitor and deter terrorists’ safe havens.
It’s been 20 years. If the Afghan army is not ready, they will never be ready. https://t.co/fTotdsx7cP

Cheney has repeatedly revealed that when it comes to her obsession with former President Donald Trump, she is seriously out of touch with Republicans. In fact, her entire platform is based on “Orange Man Bad”. Her obsession became so obvious that the Republicans who defended her when she was criticized for her impeachment vote later turned against her because she couldn’t stop paying attention to it.
However, this particular tweet shows that Cheney is also out of touch with the rest of the American public, who completely rejected the idea of harming our soldiers for no reason. Most importantly, the political will to continue to engage in endless wars and nation-building no longer exists. The appetite for continued military contact has disappeared, and the neoconservative type seems to be unable to let go at all.
This is one of several reasons why the Republican Party is moving in a different direction, thanks in large part to Donald Trump. At this point, most of the establishment members seem to have received a message from Republican voters: queue or withdraw. When the 2022 primaries begin, people like Cheney will learn the lesson the hard way.
