When I read this story by my colleague Mike Miller, I want to say that I was a little shocked: Biden orders the withdrawal of Afghan troops despite warnings from senior generals: report.
The point of this story is that senior military leaders including General Mark “Retreat, I have white anger” Milly told Biden that they need to revise Biden’s revised withdrawal plan:
General Frank Mackenzie, commander of the United States Forces in the Middle East; General Austin Scott Miller, who leads NATO forces in Afghanistan; and General Mark Milley, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
They suggested that the United States should keep 2,500 soldiers in Afghanistan and strengthen diplomatic efforts to consolidate the peace agreement.
If you read carefully, you can forgive Biden for accepting the illusion that it will affect our situation today. It won’t have. I am not shocked, because this shirking of responsibility and non-accountability has become a sign of the country’s senior military leadership.
The decay already exists in a very fragile Afghan army that can fight well, but often chooses not to fight. The Afghan army naturally distrusts an extremely corrupt and unpopular government. Central Asian countries have seen the writing on the wall, making it more difficult for contractors who need support or Afghanistan to venture there. Most of our allies are gone. Everyone is looking for an exit. Our national defense think tank recommended 2,500 more soldiers and better diplomacy.
What you see are our military leaders, the people who planned, directed, and managed American military operations in Afghanistan in the past 20 years… Stop and think about it. In 20 years, there are many examples of this: Father and son fighting in the same war… Now that Biden is claimed to be the culprit, if he only listens to the same failed advice that Bush, Obama and Trump have heard, then things will be different.
I predict that we will hear the same thing from the intelligence community because they try to erase the story three days ago from the public’s memory: The Taliban may quickly gain access to the Afghan capital within 90 days-U.S. intelligence.
This is shameful. The fact that the commander-in-chief did not act according to your requirements does not exonerate you from responsibility for a world-class military disaster like that in Afghanistan. I’m not talking about the Afghan army cutting and running on the Iranian border. I’m talking about a lack of strategic imagination to prevent the U.S. military from allowing this to happen:

A few months ago, James Jay Carafano (James Jay Carafano) wrote a short article on the subject that our military leaders are doing Washington Times:
Perhaps, the armed forces are busy with their daily work of strengthening military operations and long-term battles for more than a decade, and there is no time or space to think deeply about the future or how the United States will change around them.
Perhaps, because there is no strong economic, political, and cultural education for military leaders, their knowledge base is empty.
Perhaps the military relies too much on advanced civilian education that attaches great importance to left-wing politics.
Or, when military and political leaders begin to interfere too much in the operational aspects of each other’s affairs, we may be too lax about holding them accountable.
It’s time to talk about why our military can’t deal with politicians who play with the military, or why some military officers become partisan politicians in uniforms (this is a phenomenon in the Trump administration and the Biden administration).
Most importantly, we need to start discussing how to solve this problem before it really gets out of control.
One answer, of course, is to stop electing politicians who play politics with the military.
However, we also need to educate military leaders on how to properly serve the elected civilian leaders and their pledges when they put on military uniforms—and no matter how difficult it is, serve them equally.
Although people in uniform are always required to obey legal orders, they do not just say “yes” to every politician. Military officers should also not remain silent, which does not mean the right thing, because it may endanger their career or progress.
No matter how outrageous or out of control domestic politics, military leaders will provide a common defense there. Sometimes this is as challenging as fighting. Every point is equally important. Because you cannot fight an army that cannot fight or stop a war.
I can add another category. Maybe our army is not led by monks with firm eyes, but by a group of spoiled and grumpy heroines who are good at evading responsibilities and navigating the Byzantine bureaucracy, but they are not in the things we hire them to do. Very incompetent?
We have failed the general for 20 years. An accountant is required. No matter what silly Joe Biden calls, the military has an obligation to predict and do better, rather than blame Biden for messing up the dog as it did in the past 72 hours.
Has anyone with four stars resigned this weekend?
I clearly remember all the gnashing and tearing of clothes a few years ago to reduce my footprint in Syria…regulations and so on.
