Review – Yes, while testing my new earbuds (what I did for you…), I was trying to get rid of the storm brewing behind me. I put the Tronsmart Apollo Air+ earplugs into my listening hole. Maybe the noise reduction function will drown out the coming thunder. To review!

What is it?

Tronsmart Apollo Air+ ANC earplugs are wireless earplugs with active noise reduction and wireless charging functions.

Design and features

Tronsmart Apollo Air+ ANC earplugs use a small durable combo box/charger to protect them and make them full of vitality. This small hard case is good enough, I don’t even use the accompanying travel bag.

The back of the case includes a port for an attached charging cable and a button for pairing. I like that they contain a simple pairing button. It saves work and can quickly switch between my iPhone and iPad.

The charging cable is a nice add-on, but I really want to know that this particular unit charges wirelessly on your charging pad, as shown in the picture below. The shell can hold enough juice to allow you to enjoy 20 hours of game time. The earbuds themselves will work for about 5 hours between charges, which means you need to charge 4 times to charge the base unit. I use it for my backpack every other day, and I will use it for a few weeks before charging the base unit. The color indicator provides you with the charging status (red indicates charging).

Crack the shell and you will find your buds. When you remove the headset from the protective case, the set will automatically pair with your device, and then disconnect when you put them back in place.

Every Tronsmart Apollo Air+ ANC headset has a thick percussion pad for operation…

…This is the end stuck in your ear.

The control of earplugs is very challenging. Basically, you use the usual tap and tap/hold combination to make things work. I will save the description and show you the diagram:

do you understand? The control of these wireless earbuds has never been an easy task, but this particular unit has been used a lot. Maybe this is the sensitivity of the pad, but I find that I just often use my phone to manage the controls.

I will put some headshots here so that you can understand how to wear Tronsmart Apollo Air+ ANC earplugs. The dongle tends to stick out a little from my little ear. I have never encountered the problem of loosening them, but if you constantly manage them, you may find that this is a problem.

I found a pair of close-fitting sleeves in the kit. If I work hard and sweat, I notice a little movement, but there is nothing that quick adjustments cannot handle.

These headphones also have a nice pause function built in. If you remove the earbuds, the device will automatically pause your music or podcasts, and then restart when you put them back again. I really like this feature, especially when you need to stop and talk to someone on the road.

The sound and stereo quality of Tronsmart Apollo Air+ ANC earbuds is excellent, with crystal clear reception and crisp sound. The same is true for calls; I was told that my audio is excellent on the receiving end.

Active noise reduction is a different problem. To be honest, I didn’t see a big difference in audio quality in ANC mode. According to Tronsmart, the ANC mode can adapt to your environment, but I can hardly see the difference between this and the natural design of the buds that fill the ear holes. Setting up these controls is also painful, so I hardly mess it up.

I almost forgot to mention that I was indeed trapped by the downpour. But the IP45 waterproof performance of these headphones keeps them running like nothing happened. I think that battle has been tested by exercise and outdoor activities.

what do I like

  • Excellent sound quality
  • Well-designed housing/charging unit
  • Easy to pair
  • Wireless charging of charging box/charging unit

Areas for improvement

  • Functional operation is difficult
  • In my test, there is no significant difference between the ANC function and the performance of the normal mode

Final thoughts

I think the best use case for Tronsmart Apollo Air+ ANC Earbuds might be “set it and forget it” for powering your workout, running or walking. The sound quality is very good, waterproof, and it can stay the same even if you sweat. Although they are great for emergency calls, I find that if you mess with them often, the controls can be frustrating.
