youThe S-Foreign Minister hopes to visit the U.S. military base Ramstein in Rhineland-Palatinate in the next few days. Brinken said in Washington on Friday that he will first travel to Doha, the capital of Qatar, on Sunday. Then he will go to Ramstein Air Base, where he will talk with Afghan refugees and American personnel.

During his visit to Germany, he will also work with the Federal Minister of Foreign Affairs Heiko Mars (SPD) and held a video conference with other colleagues on Afghanistan. Brinken did not initially give an exact timetable for the stops during the trip. The US State Department is expected to provide more details on Friday (local time).

Ramstein Air Base is currently a hub for the United States to evacuate Afghan refugees who took off from their hometowns after the Taliban came to power. On the other hand, in Doha, with the full withdrawal of US troops from Kabul, the United States initially placed its diplomatic team in Afghanistan after abandoning its diplomatic presence there.
