At the same time, Islamists set the conditions for future protests. Therefore, the organizer must obtain prior approval from the Ministry of Justice. The reason, location, time and slogan of the demonstration must be notified to the judicial and security departments at least 24 hours in advance.
Two journalists were severely abused
In the past few days, the Taliban have used violence to suppress demonstrations. They also banned the media from reporting the protests.
As reported by videos on social media and local reporters, at least two women’s rallies were held in the capital Kabul on Wednesday. The Taliban arrested reporters again. They severely abused at least two reporters. Criticism of the newly appointed interim government with the little-known Mullah Mohammed Hassan Ahund as the head of government continues. The cabinet is made up of men only.
During a demonstration in the Dascht-e Bartschi district in western Kabul, about 20 women chanted “A cabinet without women will fail.” They also held signs that read “Work, Education, Freedom” and “Why is the whole world watching silently?”. The women pushed a few Taliban fighters away, and they only briefly tried to stop them.
However, when the women in Kart-e Tschar district protested again, the Taliban reacted harshly. As shown in the video, one of them beat the protester several times with a whip. As the newspaper’s editor announced on Twitter, several reporters from the Daily Mail were arrested there and detained for about two hours. At least two people have been severely abused. The marks of cables and whips can be seen on the face and head. The colleagues were taken to the office in a drowsy state.
