A generationEmergency calls have failed in many federal states. On Thursday morning, the Federal Office of Civil Protection and Disaster Assistance issued an official hazard notice to places such as Baden-Württemberg and Saxony-Anhalt, as well as major cities such as Berlin, Hamburg and Frankfurt am Main. According to the notice, Emergency No. 112, sometimes No. 110 is cancelled. For Schleswig-Holstein and Lower Saxony, as well as the cities of Kassel, Steinfurt and Mönchengladbach, as well as the cities of Schwerin, the alarm was issued again at the same time.
In Cologne, large-scale power, telephone network and drinking water failures were initially reported. At 6:20 in the morning, only the emergency call was reported.
In Baden-Württemberg, the emergency telephone numbers 110 and 112 were cancelled, and throughout Saxony-Anhalt, the emergency telephone numbers 112 and 110 and the authorities’ lines were cancelled. In North Rhine-Westphalia, the emergency number 112 in several cities failed. In Hessen, the region and the city of Kassel are temporarily affected. Due to technical failures, the emergency number 112 of the fire brigade and rescue services cannot be called.
Throughout Lower Saxony, in addition to emergency numbers, the main lines of the police and hospitals were temporarily affected by the breakdown. Many areas in the northernmost state of Schleswig-Holstein are also affected. At the same time, both federal states have lifted the ban.
