[Updated November 2021] I have updated this article with Black Friday deals and new cameras.
I am a big fan Home surveillance camera, I think they are one of the best anti-theft devices, and with all the wireless options, some surveillance in your home has never been easier.
Although there are many options, one of the biggest problems with security cameras is night recording. They tend to be good in areas with moderate light, but if you live in a secluded place without street lights, many cameras will start to struggle. Some cameras are better than others, and there is a series of new Starlight cameras that can provide color night images, but nothing is better than flooding the area with artificial light to highlight intruders.
In addition, floodlights have long been the main means of preventing intruders. Thieves usually don’t like being lighted up, so with a floodlight camera, you will get double protection.
I talked to a representative Clear sound safety, They know a lot about the subject at hand, they said: “There are many surveillance cameras on the market today, and one of the best options is floodlight security cameras. As the name suggests, these security cameras integrate floodlights and Security cameras. Floodlight cameras capture every activity that occurs so that you can view it remotely from a connected device and light up when motion is detected to scare off intruders. These cameras are great because they also provide two-way conversations Feature, so you can talk to guests or remotely scare intruders.”
A few years ago, almost no company offered a combination of floodlights and cameras. Netatmo and Ring were the two leading companies. Now things have changed. In fact, there are more options than I realized when I started this article. So what is the best option right now?
2021 Black Friday Sale
Currently, there are not many Black Friday deals for floodlight cameras, but I will update the post as more events go online. Arlo and Ring always have good discounts, so I believe they will be announced soon.
The suggested retail price of Arlo floodlights has been significantly reduced from £260 to £149. This is life before Black Friday, so it may drop further. —— Buy here
Current offers:
- eufy Security Floodlight Cam 2 Pro drops from £280 to £209
- eufy Security Floodlight Camera 1080P reduced from 160 GBP to 90 GBP
This is a new product on the market and only appeared on Amazon in the past few months. It seems to be the most advanced safety floodlight on the market, and I would love to use it to replace my EZVIZ floodlight.
Unfortunately, this can only be connected at 2.4Ghz. This is the standard configuration for most cameras, but it would be great for advanced solutions with 5Ghz options.
Features include:
- 360° pan and tilt camera coverage 360° pan lens horizontally to obtain a complete field of view without the risk of blind spots.
- 2K Full HD Capture all the details of full 2K HD during live broadcast and recording.
- Smart lighting with 3 dimmable panels adjusts the color temperature and brightness of the spotlight based on sunrise and sunset, timetable and motion detection.
- AI Subject Locking and Tracking The AI on the device can recognize when a person is present, and then lock, track, and record the subject.
- Turn night into day: 3,000 lumens of ultra-bright motion activated floodlights deter intruders and ensure detailed full-color recording even at night.
Other notable features
- This does no Connect to eufyCam HomeBase
- There is currently no vehicle detection, but it is expected to be updated with this feature.
I am a big fan of this eufy wireless camera When I tried them, the battery life was amazing. I still use the system in several places in my house, where I am too lazy to connect a POE camera.
The design of the eufy security floodlight camera is similar to Ring, but it is currently much cheaper at only £149, it has local storage, so there is no cloud subscription cost, and the 2,500 lumens rating is higher than Ring or Arlo.
The night recording is in full color, and there is a 100dB alarm.
This also requires a power cord and works on 2.4Ghz Wi-Fi channels.

I have reviewed before Network presence I think this may be the first floodlight camera on the market, and it is still one of the best cameras. I don’t like to install hardware, the app might be better, but since I started using it, it has been flawless.
Two outstanding functions are that it recognizes objects, only notifies you when it sees a person, and then it records all its shots locally, so there is no cloud subscription fee.
This camera needs to be connected to your power source, I replaced the existing PIR lamp, so it is easy. Like most of these cameras, it uses Wi-Fi on the 2.4Ghz channel.

I haven’t used this camera, but I like it very much Ring the doorbellThe ring floodlight may set the standard for many of the following cameras, some of which have very similar designs.
With this, you can also get two-way talk and siren alarms. The video is recorded in 1080p and you need to subscribe to the cloud to use it.
This also requires a power cord and works on 2.4Ghz Wi-Fi channels.

Suspiciously similar in design to ring floodlights, this is the second Floodlight camera I reviewed, I also continue to use it.
I like these two main aspects. It is cheaper than Ring and you have multiple recording options including cloud, microSD and NVR.
This also requires a power cord and works on 2.4Ghz Wi-Fi channels.

It hasn’t come out yet, and I’m not sure if or when it will arrive in the UK. It definitely deserves attention. As far as I know, this is the only battery-operated floodlight camera on the market (Ring has a spotlight battery camera). Admittedly, I would rather not use batteries, but it’s good to have options. Thankfully, you can also connect it to a power source.
this Arlo Pro 3 Floodlight It should be available in the U.S. starting in the spring at a price of US$249.99 (approximately £191)
This is an interesting addition to the floodlight market. It is actually a floodlight mount, and then you can connect Blink Outdoor to it. This comment is a bit mixed, so please buy with caution.
The Floodlight bracket itself is not compatible with the original Blink camera and XT2. This seems to be one of the reasons for the negative reviews. Others complained that it was difficult to update the lights to work with floodlights.
If you are already using Blink, this is worth considering.

Another inexpensive solution with a ring design. This has two-way talk, siren and color night recording.
Clips are saved to local memory for 7 days, secure cloud for 2 days, and can be extended to 30 days of cloud recording through a subscription service.
This also requires a power cord and works on 2.4Ghz Wi-Fi channels.

One of the cheapest options out there, it looks like a cheap Ring-knockoff. On Amazon, it’s £109.99, but there are 20% coupons that will reduce it to less than £90.I just reviewed Anke 4K POE Camera And was impressed by the quality of the price you paid.
This is another camera with two-way talk function. It has 2400 lumens of light and is stored on a microSD card.
This camera claims to have accurate AI suspicious intrusion algorithms, and only close to the human body can trigger video recording and application push alerts.

Moving to a random Amazon brand, this brand costs as much as a well-known company, but does not provide features that make it stand out from the competitive model.
Spotlight camera
These are not floodlight cameras, but they are still good and can be used for a more focused beam instead of flooding the entire area. In particular, if floodlights will annoy neighbors, this can be useful.
There is a wired and Battery ring spotlight The options are here. Unless there is no other choice, please choose wired. The wired option uses a USB cable instead of a power cord, so it can be said to be easier to install.
Less than £90 Yale All-in-One It is a good choice, it has two-way audio, also uses USB cable for power supply, and uses microSD for storage.
Similar to Yale’s design, it also uses USB and microUSB for storage.
It costs £159.99, which is a bit expensive, but Swann is a 4K spotlight camera with thermal sensor for motion detection. This requires POE Ethernet, you usually pair it with Swann NVR, as far as I know, it is only compatible with Swann system, not with other network video software.
