Design and features

The Satechi Quatro wireless power bank is a powerful battery with a very comfortable appearance and a very comfortable hold. There are no sharp corners here, only curves with generous edges.

In terms of size, it is slightly longer than the iPhone 13, and is only slightly thicker depending on how you are running. Convenience is the name of the game here, because the device can easily solve the problem of charging Apple Watch, Qi devices, and devices from its USB-C or USB-A ports.

Four LEDs on the Quatro display the charge level, an oval LED display mode and a button (near the left corner) are all the controls needed.

set up

You know what to do. Open the box and plug the included cable into the USB-C power supply. The maximum input is 18W, so please use an adapter with a power of at least 18W to achieve the shortest charging time.

To charge a USB-C or USB-A device, connect your device to the relevant port and press the power button on the Quatro.

To charge your Apple Watch or Qi device, press the power button once to turn on the Satechi Quatro wireless power bank, and then double-click the button to turn on both charging methods. The blue LED on the far right side of the LED light bar will light up. Place the Apple Watch on the white watch module, or place the Qi device on the SATECHI logo to start charging.

To turn off the power, press and hold the button.

Performance

About a day before Quatro appeared at my door, I had to go on a two-day fast fire house hunting trip. This is a great opportunity to travel easily, because I only plan a backpack. I charged the Quatro and threw it in my bag. I hope I didn’t have any problems because I didn’t bring a backup, but I think I can always give my phone in the rented car if needed. Charge. From a weight point of view, Quatro weighs 269 grams, which is only about 65 grams heavier than the iPhone 13 Pro without a protective case. It is very easy to manage.

Surprise first. The Jeep Wrangler I ended up didn’t have any kind of USB ports. After arriving at the hotel, I used Quatro’s USB-C to Lightning data cable to charge the phone and then went to bed.

If you run any Apple Watch, then you are very familiar with the need to charge it every day. In the morning, my Apple Watch 4 could hardly be turned on. I put it on the Quatro, let it charge when I go, and have breakfast with my son, who is helping to find a house. After about an hour, we started to visit some houses, and my watch is now about 50% charged.

My phone is running out all day, because it is so, I can charge it a few times with Satechi Quatro wireless power bank, then charge my watch to 100%, and even charge my hearing aid on Qi to sleep Before charging. The next day is similar, except that you don’t need to recharge the watch before flying home. All in all, I don’t need to use the wall socket all the time to complete this trip. I even have power left on the Quatro. A great experience.

Soon after I got home, my new Apple Watch 7 arrived. Compared to the 6 I assumed, this is not a huge upgrade, but compared to the 4 I had before, it’s a good jump. Especially faster charging is appreciated, and this is the unfortunate aspect of Satechi Quatro. The watch module on Quatro is limited to 2.5W, so it cannot magically charge any watch, including the new 7. If you want to charge at a higher speed, you need to bring the new cable that came with your watch and connect it to the USB-C port. This is a drag and reduces the built-in watch charger to a shutdown charger instead of fast charging before the next activity.

One strange thing is that there are some differences in the product specifications between the samples I received and their website. The website claims that the battery is 10,000mAh. This is the printed information on the back of my device…

This is the same image on the back of the device in their marketing photo…

which one? 10,000mAh, 6400mAh, 5000mAh or 2660mAh? I’m not sure how the product capacity exceeds the battery capacity, so this is really strange. I have sent a question to their customer service to see if I can get an answer. I will notify you after I receive the reply.

Apart from that quibble, this is a very powerful battery pack. Some other quick things to note…

  • If your Apple Watch has a closed loop strap with no elasticity, or the strap connector is inserted into the watch at an angle, you may need to remove the strap to charge it.
  • The black finish on the top and bottom of the Quatro can really absorb the grease from your fingers. Get used to polishing.
  • I find it strange that they use the Satechi logo as the center point of the Qi charger. Good for the location, bad for the brand, because if you use it, it will be covered.

what do I like

  • Multifunctional USB-C, USB-A, Qi and Apple Watch charger
  • Excellent shape, good hand feel and easy to use
  • Integrated Qi and Apple Watch charger ready

What will i change

  • Increase the speed of the Apple Watch charger
  • The soft-touch black finish is a fingerprint magnet
  • Clear specifications for real mAh capacity

Final thoughts

If you are looking for a very rugged battery pack with USB-C, USB-A and Qi functions, the Satechi Quatro wireless power bank can definitely meet your needs. If you are using Apple Watch 6 or earlier, the watch charger works well. If you have a new Apple Watch 7, then your speed has been broken, and you need to bring your cable to charge quickly anyway. Hope Satechi can make operational changes here and update the unit to get faster speeds on Apple Watch.
