Review – I walk on a treadmill for 20 minutes twice a day and use TotalGym for strength training 4 times a week. I have been doing this for many years, although it helps keep me active and relatively healthy, but day after day, week after week, month after month, etc., it will become boring to do the same thing. Therefore, when I have the opportunity to test the MYXfitness MYX II Plus exercise bike, I am very happy to try the new fitness equipment. let’s see.

Design and features

MYXfitness MYX II Plus is a professional-quality Star Trac spinning bike, no, you don’t have to assemble it yourself. The MYXfitness MYX II Plus exercise bike you purchased includes a white glove delivery service, which means they will enter your house and set up the bike completely, just like you can see in the first picture of this review. You don’t have to assemble anything. When they delivered mine, it was almost assembled. They just rolled it into the house I wanted to install and added all the finishing touches.
When the delivery person leaves your house, you can immediately get ready to ride a MYX II Plus bike and start your first ride after you register an account via the touch screen. Although you don’t need to subscribe to MYXfitness to ride this bike, you will miss what makes this bike so great. But it will be described in detail later. First, let’s take a look at the bike itself, which is available in black or white.

MYX II Plus has a racing-style handlebar with a soft rubber coating. In different riding styles, you can use various grip areas.
You will also notice that there are two large bottle holders. I use one for the water bottle and the other for my mobile phone.

In the center of the rod is a knob, you can use it to adjust the distance between your body and the rod. There is also a knob that allows you to adjust the height of the handlebars. The third knob in the figure above is the resistance knob, which can adjust the difficulty of stepping on the MYXfitness MYX II Plus exercise bike.

Since the weight of the additional touch screen and the adjustment knob are spring-loaded and must be pulled out to lift the handle with the additional screen, it is difficult for you to adjust the height of the handlebars yourself.

MYX II Plus seat/saddle is also racing style. Just like a handlebar, you can adjust the vertical and horizontal settings.
I haven’t ridden a bicycle for decades and found that the seat is uncomfortable to sit on. I bought a padded lid from Amazon and I thought it would help, but it didn’t.

Then I bought a wider and softer replacement seat from Amazon again, which had a big impact on the comfort of my butt. 😉

The pedals on the MYX II Plus have clips, but you don’t need to have special shoes to use them. I just wear my regular Brooks sneakers, no problem. My first reaction was to remove the clips, but I think it is better to leave them on, especially when you are riding from the saddle. This way you don’t have to worry about your feet/shoes slipping off the pedals during the sprint.
Openfit and BODi exercise
The MYXfitness MYX II Plus exercise bike is great on its own, but the real benefit is when you pair the bike with Openfit and/or BODi exercise subscription services. With one or both of these services, you can have a large number of exercise options on and off the bike.
Opening and closing
39 USD/month. (Purchase MYX II Plus can be used for free for 1 month)

With Openfit, you will see the main dashboard on the touch screen. In this view, you will see a report showing your past exercises, including your exercise time and heart rate zone information, which is an important aspect of the Openfit system.
The dashboard will also show you recommended and most popular daily exercises, as well as new exercises that you can quickly click to start working out. How many exercises are there in total? There are 1000, and new ones are added every week.

There is horse riding training, because uh…riding a bicycle. But they don’t just ride fast for 30 minutes, you’re done. On-demand exercises are guided by dozens of coaches, who will guide you through the exercise and tell you when to tighten the resistance knob, when to step on the saddle, etc.
There are also some rides that allow you to ride in beautiful places from all over the world. Through these rides, you can control the resistance part of riding during the control process.
Also note that you can sort exercises by type, duration, level, and even coach and background music style.

You can also choose cross-training, combining strength exercises with weight-bearing or your own weight and cycling.

You can also perform some exercise programs, which are a series of exercises that span days or weeks.

You will not be bored with MYXfitness MYX II Plus exercise bike and on-demand exercise, because there are many types to choose from. If you want to ride a bike to watch the news? You can do it too!
You may be wondering about real-time group lessons/exercises, which can be done through the mobile Openfit app, but it is not available on MYX II Plus bikes using OpenFit, but will be launched in early 2022.

As mentioned earlier, this exercise bike includes a wearable Polar heart rate monitor. If you have and like Apple Watch, you can also use it. Exercise tracking your heart rate will guide you to keep your heart rate in a specific area while exercising.

When you ride or get off the bike to exercise, you will see the real-time status of burned calories, cadence, speed and distance.

Then at the bottom of the screen, you will see your real-time heart rate and your area. Depending on the region, you are burning fat or glucose.

After the workout, you will see a report showing how long you have been exercising, your heart rate zones, and the time you spent in each zone.
Openfit is a great choice for those looking for more boutique one-on-one coaching, which includes on-demand courses from mediation to cross-training and off-cycle exercises. Heart rate zones help customize your exercise experience and allow you to track your progress. The app also provides access to exercises with real-time feedback, such as walking or running exercises, and it allows you to exercise on the go and not at home. In addition, exercises done through the mobile app are synchronized with the bike and vice versa, so you can monitor and track all exercises in one place.
BODi (Beachbody)
The subscription fee for BODi is $29 per month. BODi subscription actually only costs $19.95 per month; however, Beachbody On Demand needs to pay $99 per year. If you break down the $99/year cost into monthly payments and add it to a separate BODi monthly payment of $19.95, the total will be $29/month.

Like Openfit, there is a dashboard that displays information about your past exercises and shows recommended exercises as well as shortcuts to schedules, rides, programs, and exercises.

In the “Schedule” section, you can find live courses that you can join or register for. Unlike Openfit, BODi does have live courses, which can help motivate you when you can view the statistics of other riders in real time.

You can also select on-demand exercises that can be sorted by duration and coach.

You can also carry out a variety of fitness programs.

These programs not only include exercise, but also other information, such as…

Nutrition video. The only thing that may annoy some people is when they talk about special supplements and milkshakes that you can buy.

There is also an exercise area where you can find various strength training and even dance exercises.
BODi is a good interactive exercise option, providing on-site (BODcasts group bike courses) and on-demand courses. Live BODcasts allows you to turn on the camera (if you choose) to get real-time feedback and calls. You can even see other people in the class on the big screen (if they choose to turn on the camera).
See it in action
Which subscription should you choose? If you want to conduct live courses, then you should choose BODi, otherwise, there are many similarities between the two services. I kind of prefer Openfit, but I can’t explain why this is the service I use most often other than reviewing this bike.
what do I like
- Bike is quiet
- Screen rotation for non-biking exercises
- A membership can be used for up to five profiles
- MYX II Plus includes dumbbells, kettlebells, resistance bands, foam rollers and exercise mats
What will i change
- Provide different seat/saddle options
- Provides the function of projecting/streaming from the phone to the screen
Final thoughts
I realize that the MYXfitness MYX II Plus exercise bike is an expensive fitness equipment, especially when you pair it with an Openfit or BODi monthly subscription. But remember, the whole family only needs to subscribe once to use the MYXfitness MYX II Plus exercise bike, because you can have up to 5 user profiles on the bike.
Those who purchase MYX bicycles can try it risk-free for 30 days and get a full refund and free pick-up service when they decide to return the product.
Openfit and BODi also offer free trials. BODi provides a 30-day free trial, and Openfit provides a 14-day trial.
I have done gym things before, and I prefer to exercise at home instead of going to the gym. I think MYXfitness MYX II Plus exercise bike can be an important supplement to any home gym setting, as long as the buyer is willing to purchase Openfit or BODi membership at the same time, because without one of these memberships, you will lose a lot of functions.
Price: Bikes are $1599.00, then $39/month of Openfit membership and/or $29/month of BODi membership are optional
