Although I like Realme very much, they are a bit lackluster in the camera department. Many phones can take good-quality photos in good light, but they are often inferior to competing brands.
Of course, there is a balance between cost/function/performance.Original Realme GT Because of its attractive price, it is an excellent phone, and few phones have launched the Snapdragon 888 close to its RRP. The low-light performance is not amazing, but under good lighting, the phone produces good results.
Later this year, Realme launched Realme GT Explorer, Because the Snapdragon 870 is paired with the excellent 50MP Sony IMX766, it may become their best mobile phone this year. Sadly, for whatever reason, Realme chose not to launch in the UK.
For the flagship in 2022 Realme GT 2 Pro, The brand pays more attention to its cameras.
50MP Sony IMX766 main camera
Most importantly, the main camera is an excellent 50MP Sony IMX766 with a sensor size of 1/1.56 inches. It is not the absolute best sensor on the market, but it is definitely there and used in some of the best phones in 2021, including OPPO Find X3 Pro and OnePlus 9. It is believed that this should also have OIS, which should help improve the consistency of the shot.
150 degree super wide
Then for the ultra-wide-angle camera, Realme is doing some unique 150-degree field of view, which should also allow them to make fish-eye style photos. The exact specifications of the camera are still unknown. Usually Realme uses generic low-quality ultra-wide sensors (like most affordable phones), if they have better quality, it is better to use IMX766 again, but this will also increase the price.
Microscope lens
Finally, the phone will be equipped with a microscope 2.0 lens. I assume this is a 2nd A generation of microscope lens, similar to the lens on OPPO Find X3 Pro. I’m currently reviewing this phone. The microscope lens is better than the ubiquitous macro lens, but its usefulness is still limited.
For selfies, GT2 Pro will be equipped with a 32-megapixel front camera.
Early certification of this phone shows that it is equipped with a 6.7-inch AMOLED display that provides Quad HD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate, and like most flagship phones, it will use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset.
Start date and time
The phone will be announced on the 4thday January. The time on the trailer is 19:30, but I’m not sure if this is the China time in Las Vegas, where CES 2022 will be held, or the Pacific time zone.
