512 Audio expands the product range with USB microphone and USB audio interface

Audio and podcasting may not be my strong suit, but I am very impressed with it 512 Audio Skylight XLR microphone.

The brand is rapidly expanding its product line with three new devices at CES 2020.

There are two USB-powered microphones that provide a lower price and a more user-friendly and affordable interface than XLR.

Then there is a USB audio interface with two XLR microphone inputs.

512 Audio is an Austin-based brand dedicated to providing creators with professional audio equipment. It launched its first USB microphones-Script and Tempest, and an intuitive audio interface at the 2022 International Consumer Electronics Show.

Script is a compact dual-mode USB microphone with a retro-style design and simple built-in studio controls, designed for podcasting, streaming and clear online communication. Script uses high-quality component design, borrowing from the classic Warm Audio WA-14 studio condenser microphone design and powerful sound contours to capture your voice with natural clarity and fullness. Optimized for speech and voice, the dual capsule design plus stricter frequency response allows Script to handle the general home recording environment by rejecting common and unwanted frequencies. With onboard gain and mute and a dedicated headphone jack, Script can easily set the level and monitor directly, making it easy to record outstanding sound in any setting. It will be launched in the spring of 2022.

Tempest (recommended retail price of £154.99):

Tempest is a true large-diaphragm studio microphone with the convenience of a modern USB-C connection. With 34mm gold-plated condenser poles and 24-bit/48kHz resolution, Tempest can capture rich, detailed audio for podcasts, live broadcasts, acoustic instruments, and vocal performances. For USB plug-and-play workflows, Tempest has microphone gain, zero-delay headphone volume monitoring, and mute functions, allowing you to fully control your voice. Tempest borrows the design and sound characteristics of another classic Warm Audio WA-47jr studio microphone, and combines high-quality components to provide truly professional audio. Tempest will be listed on Amazon UK in March.
