Is the Samsung Frame TV worth buying? | Jess Ann Kirby

It’s been 4 years since we owned our first Samsung Frame TV and we’ve added several other products to our collection since then. We have two (living room and bedroom) in our house in Rhode Island and one (living room) in our house in Vermont. If you’re curious about the Samsung Frame TV or want to get one for yourself, read on for my review. All sizes 43″-85″ are currently on sale through May 21st!

I get asked about all kinds of things in our house.Furniture, mattresses, sheets, paint, flooring, countertops, but one thing I get asked a lot is our Samsung Picture Frame TV. I bought my first one 2 years ago mainly because our house was so small. I don’t want a big ugly TV taking up wall space in our living room, I see it from every angle in the dining/living/kitchen space. I want another Frame TV when we build the add-on our bedroom. Honestly, we probably don’t need it. We rarely watch TV in bed. It was an impulse buy when I was in the fog of sleep deprivation in the newborn phase. That said, it looks great, and maybe we’ll end up using it more. So is the Samsung Frame TV worth the hype? Here is my review.

What is Samsung Photo Frame TV?

Essentially, it’s a TV with the option to add frames in various color options. You can also display artwork on your TV by uploading your own library of free Samsung images, or you can purchase images to display on Samsung apps (There’s also an Etsy shop that sells Frame TV art). Does it look exactly like the framed artwork? kind of. Upon closer inspection, it was obvious that it was a TV. But if you don’t want a big black TV screen to be the focal point of your room, it’s a great option. We’ve had a lot of people ask us where we buy the prints shown on TV because they think it’s art.

How did you install it?

samsung photo frame tv Comes with a gap-free wall mount. It can still be angled or flush with the wall. There’s only one clear connector wire on the back of the TV, so it’s easy to hide it. The power cord carries the power and HDMI connections, but it connects to a larger black box. This can be harder to hide. We have media mounts under both TVs, so it’s easy to stow away, but it’s huge if you want to put it on the wall behind the TV. The remote and TV work fine with the box hidden, so you can hide it in a wall or even in a different room and loop the wires around.

Does it come with the framework?

The TV doesn’t actually come with a frame, which is probably one of my only “cons”. TVs are definitely cheaper now than when we bought them, 50″ is currently $1099 (without frame) if you get the 43 inch it’s under $900。 The advantage of buying the frame separately is that it can be replaced very easily if you wish. The frame is actually metal and snaps on like a magnet. We have beige, which matches our other picture frames throughout the house. You can also get black, white, brown or New advanced options (but they will cost you more).

How is the picture and sound quality?

Image quality is amazing. It’s crystal clear and the sound is impressive even without the added speakers. I’m not a tech guy, so probably not the best authority on this, but comparing it to the picture on our basement Samsung TV, which is no Frame TV, is just as good, if not better. If you want the absolute best image quality, don’t you, but I have nothing to complain about.

Does art mode consume a lot of battery?

Making your TV look like a work of art is great, but not if it burns out your TV and wastes power. Samsung Frame has what you need. Art Mode uses about 30 percent of the battery it uses to play a movie, so it’s not as eco-friendly as turning off the TV, but it’s a great option, especially when people are coming over. You can also use Samsung’s various Art Mode settings to turn the Frame TV’s display on/off based on the motion sensor (so it turns on when you’re in the room and turns off when you’re not).

So is Frame TV worth it?

If you want something that complements your decor and can change the look and feel of a space, I think The Samsung Picture Frame TV is definitely worth the moneyAside from looking great, the Samsung Frame TV is a smart TV so you can download and customize apps, including Apple TV, which means you don’t need to connect any other devices. Yes, did you invest a little in form rather than function. Can you get a TV with the same picture and sound quality for less? Yes. If you want a TV that doesn’t look like a TV, has a sleek design and easy cable connections, look no further than the Samsung Photo Frame TV!
