Cartoonist Kurt Westergaard’s obituary

DThe Danish cartoonist Kurt Westergaard has passed away. The Berlingske newspaper quoted his family as saying that he “died peacefully after a long illness.” Westgarde was 86 years old.

Editor in charge of online and “media” topics.

His suggestion that he can end his life “peacefully” is particularly important. Because Kurt Westgard has lived under the protection of Danish agents for fifteen years. He was assassinated twice and nearly escaped the second time, when one of the Somali asylum seekers entered his home with an axe.

Westgard paid a high personal price for freedom of speech, freedom of the press, and cartoons. He lost the right to move freely. Islamists are offering a seven-figure reward for his murder, because in September 2005, the Jyllands-Posten launched an action around the prophet Mohammed and extremist distortion of Islam. He is a 12 cartoonist one. What followed was the so-called “cartoon battle”, violent riots occurred in Islamic countries, and the death toll was as high as 150 people. Responsible for this is a group of Danish imams and Islamists who incited the riots. Not the cartoonist Westgard. As he said later, he “only did his job.” But today it seems that some people have forgotten this.

Now appearing in texts about the death of Kurt Westergaard, distributed by news organizations and reprinted countless times, causality is transformed into the opposite in an outright anomalous way, as you can in As read on spiegel.de: “Danish draftsman Kurt Westgard is dead”, it said: “His controversial Mohammed cartoons sparked protests in many countries and eventually led to the Paris satire The editor of the magazine Charlie Hebdo was attacked in blood.”

How did the “protest” happen

Everyone should understand that on January 7, 2015, the editorial office of the French Satire suffered a terrorist attack. Two Islamists killed 12 people. This can only be related to Kurt Westgard, because he dared to criticize ten years ago. Islamism immediately understands the reader.Output Charlie Hebdo On the day of the massacre, the publication of Michel Hullebeck’s novel “Submission” took the opportunity to present Islamists. The murderer wanted to suppress this criticism.

However, the joint mention of the violent protests against Mohammed’s cartoons in the Jylland Post in February 2006 has also been forgotten. The newspaper published these drawings on September 30, 2015. The Egyptian newspaper Al Fagr reprinted it the following month. However, it was only after a delegation of Danish Islamists went to Beirut and Cairo to display a collection of 43 photos, most of which had nothing to do with the drawings of the Jylland Post. At an agricultural fair in southern France, a man wearing a pig mask took part in the “Pig Squeak Competition”. The photos of the organization were particularly eye-catching. When Chief Mohammed Sajid Tantawi, a senior scholar at Al-Azhar University, described the Jutland Post package and the cartoon contained in it as a mockery of Islam, the Islamists got what they wanted thing. This attracted people’s attention, and this caused a storm.
