Biden finally takes action on saving Afghan interpreters – RedState

we have already Keep pushing The Biden administration has been doing things for months to save Afghan interpreters and others who have worked as comrades in our side’s struggle against the Taliban.

As the United States withdraws from the country, the Taliban seizes more and more land, and interpreters and their families are facing the threat of being killed by the Taliban. Some people have been killed by the Taliban.

This is something that Biden should have dealt with a few months ago, and now he seems to be trying to catch up because the window of opportunity is quickly closing.Biden dispute US intelligence reports stated that once we withdraw from the Taliban, we are likely to take over the country within this year. But the Taliban have claimed that they own most of the country. This is not good news 20 years later, it makes it more difficult to save allies.

There is some good news.

Biden officials announced that they will allow approximately 2500 people, 700 Afghan interpreters and their families to enter a military base in the country. The base recommended by the Department of Defense is Fort Lee, Virginia, until their special immigrant visas are processed. It is expected that they will only need to stay at the base for a few days when completing the SIV process. These people have gone the furthest in this process and have passed the security review. They will also undergo a medical examination before completing the process. So this is good news. We are fulfilling our promise to these people and saving their lives from the almost certain death of the Taliban.

But this is only the beginning. According to NBC reports, about 18,000 people still need visas, not including family members. The government stated that those who are not so far in the process will be sent to a third country during the transition period, rather than evacuated directly to the United States. But it is not clear whether they have decided on these countries. Some people may now be in areas that the Taliban have taken over, so whether they can go out is a question.

So there is good news. It seems that some people are safe, but time is still passing. I hope they can solve the remaining problems.
