As the debate over Critical Race Theory (CRT) continues in American classrooms, conservatives are mobilizing to ensure that students are not instilled in a strong left-wing ideology. I spoke with Jenny Beth Martin, Honorary Chairman of the Tea Party Patriot Action (TPPA), an organization that has been on the front lines of this battle.
Martin told me about some of the actions the TPPA is taking to oppose the leftists’ push to include CRT and other forms of arousalism in the curriculum. Together with other organizations, her organization is developing tools for caring parents to help them prevent their children from being indoctrinated.
In our conversation, Martin stated that people can fight back by paying attention to local politics—especially the school board. She suggested that by participating more in the community and allowing conservatives and others who oppose the infusion of awakening theology into student curricula to express their opinions, they can ensure that educators are doing what they are supposed to do: preparing children for their lives, and Not to make them become left-wing activists.
