If you don’t know that the “Jan. 6 Committee” is controlled by Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), this will be a partisan hunt, as Pelosi has just confirmed through her latest move.
Pelosi has appointed the Democrats Selection Committee Including Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY), So you already know how prejudiced it will be, full of anti-Trump people.
It has piled up like a mountain. The Democrats have eight member choices and the Republicans have only five.
But when Republicans announced their choice of committee, Pelosi vetoed two of them: Representative Jim Banks (R-IN) and Representative Jim Jordan (R-OH).
In a statement, Pelosi reiterated the lie that the three-hour riot on January 6 was the worst domestic attack on American democracy since the Civil War. Then she gave the reasons for rejecting these two members as follows.
“Out of the integrity of the investigation, the persistence of the truth, and the concern about the statements and actions taken by these members, I must reject the recommendations made to the Special Committee on behalf of Banks and Jordan.
“The unprecedented nature of January 6 required this unprecedented decision.”
How could there be more evidence that she only wants a party show? She just proved it with spades. Jordan also made it clear that if he joins the group, he will question Pelosi’s lack of safety that day. Obviously, this is not what Pelosi wants to face.
House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) is now fighting back. He has now announced that he will remove all Republican-appointed people from the committee unless she sits down the two people she opposes.
“Unless Speaker Pelosi changes direction and allows all five Republican candidates to get seats.” McCarthy said: “Republicans will not participate in their false procedures, but will conduct our own investigation of the facts.” He She also called her behavior a “serious abuse of power.”

As a member of Congress and an Afghan veteran, I am disappointed by this unprecedented move @SpeakerPelosi. she knows @Jim_Jordan I will fight for our country and truth. This proves once again that this is a political gimmick, not an effort to truly follow the facts.

Pelosi may have just given a gift to the Republican Party. Republicans thought it was a hoax, and now this eliminates all questions about it being completely partisan. So anything that comes out of it is invalid. Frankly speaking, Republicans should have refused to agree at the beginning, but now Pelosi is the one who does this, and Republicans can give pointers, “Look at what we tell you.” McCarthy refused to move on.
