Review – Since the beginning of Covid, I have been working in my home office, and I have been able to test some conference equipment, which range from reasonable to very expensive. Most are the latter. I am currently testing the AverMedia AS311 AI hands-free phone.

Its AI-driven noise suppression and enhanced 360° audio coverage enable uninterrupted communication. The built-in omnidirectional microphone and speaker will pick up your voice (up to 3 m or 9.8 feet) and transmit clear audio in all directions for effective communication. Echo cancellation prevents the microphone from picking up sound from the speaker. It also has a mute touch control with LED indicators to adjust the volume or mute the sound during the meeting. It is compatible with Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Skype, Google Hangout, etc.

This device is a simple design. On the top front, there are branding, speakers, microphone and control touchpad. There is a USB port on the back.

This AverMedia AS311 hands-free phone is truly plug and play. Just plug it in, give it a few seconds, and you can start using it. There are 5 LED indicators on the top of the front panel, which represent the volume level. Blue when the device is unmuted, and red when it is muted. The AI noise suppression button is blue when it is active and does not light up when it is off. Hotkey to open your browser. According to the manufacturer, it only works on MS Windows.
AverMedia AS311 is a very good hands-free phone, which I use every day now. It works on the Microsoft Teams, Skype and Zoom platforms I use. AI noise suppression works well, especially because I have 2 young children who can and do break into my office door accidentally. It’s great that I can take this device with me. The audio on both ends is very clear, and it feels like an enduring product.

Final thoughts
After using the AverMedia AS311 speakerphone for a period of time, it has become my preferred device for meetings. Connecting to the computer is simple, and its audio is clean and clear. The noise reduction function is perfect, and the compact design makes it easy to carry. I gave it a good job and gave it two thumbs up.
