Review – Sleep is one of the most important things we do every day. Sleep is also one of the things that many of us struggle with every day. For many of us, having some sort of masking sound that masks all other sounds helps promote better sleep. Mintal is using the MW01 white noise machine to provide a vision of better sleep through sound. The name is a bit misnomer, because it is much more than that. Let us have a look.

Mintal MW01 is a noise generator that can produce eight unique sounds. It can also combine them arbitrarily to produce 256 different sound combinations, each of which has a different sound intensity. It can also pair with the Mintal app via Bluetooth to access more than 100 additional sounds. After pairing with your phone, it can also double as a Bluetooth speaker.

Design and features
All controls are located on the top of the Mintal MW01 noise generator. From top to bottom, from left to right:

The slider can change the intensity of each sound, allowing you to play a sleep DJ and mix sounds at will.
On the back, we see the USB-C input port and a headphone jack.

Before that, we have been sleeping through Alexa. It works well, but it plays as a loop and has an obvious end and start. This can be very disturbing to sleep. In addition, any network or device updates applied overnight will eliminate the sound. I put the Mintal MW01 noise generator on my bedside table and went to bed!
First of all, the sound produced by this thing sounds just like what they said. I have heard that some sound generators sound like sound generators. This will produce realistic sound on all sliders. The timing of thunder and birdsong is actually random and natural. The crackling of the campfire made me want to make s’mores. After playing with the Mintal MW01 noise generator, we opted for mixed rainfall, with low thunder intensity and low wind. I really like the fact that you can mix sounds and their respective intensities to your liking.
After a few nights, sound became part of our daily routine every night. Now, this sound is part of our bedroom like a bed or a dresser. It looks natural and soothing.
This is not to say that everything is perfect. First of all, when you open it, in my opinion, it is an annoying startup sound. The same is true when the power is off. Why is it there? If you open it and it starts to make a sound, you know it is already open. It’s very simple. Next, I need to complain about the volume. For some reason, the machine does not remember its volume setting. When I opened it, it was loud-too noisy to sleep. So, I repeatedly clicked the volume button until it was a perfect volume. I turned it off in the morning, and when I turned it on the next night, it blew me up again.
If the included sounds are not enough for you, then you can use the Mintal app to access a large number of other sounds as well as meditation guides and sleep guides.

Finally, I played some music on the phone and was pleasantly surprised to find that the sound quality of this speaker was very good, especially its relatively small size. It is certainly not a reference speaker, but it is enough to fill the room with sound.

The Mintal MW01 noise generator surprised me. I expected a small, mediocre sound, but got a high-quality, realistic sound. It produces sounds ranging from quiet background noise to sounds that fill the room. This means it is suitable for bedrooms of all sizes and configurations. If you like meditation or other natural sounds, optional apps and subscriptions give you access to a large number of options. If you have insomnia, this will be a good addition to your bedroom.
