Although due to the cover-up by Governor Andrew Cuomo, most of the attention on nursing homes being ordered to accept patients with positive Wuhan coronavirus is focused on New York, but it does not only happen in New York. Other Democratic-controlled states in Michigan, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey also ordered it.
Congress has asked the Department of Justice to respond to the progress of the investigation.
Now, the Justice Department has finally responded to House Minority Whip Steve Scarlis (R-LA), a senior member of the Coronavirus Crisis Subcommittee.
For thousands of families, this is a terrible day.Giving @Steve Scalis, @TheJusticeDept Wrote that they are abandoning nursing home investigations in all states, including New York. The people we love will not get justice, it feels like we have lost them again. pic.twitter.com/DV7uNRMr9D

Although they said that New Jersey is conducting an investigation, the Department of Justice said that after viewing more information and talking to the states, they will not investigate other states, even New York, without having all the evidence about the incident. Investigate. Cover-ups and lies from the Cuomo team.
Now, I have been reporting this Since May last year, When we were the first to report that Cuomo changed their way of counting deaths to obscure how many people died in nursing homes after the March order.
I don’t think any measures will be taken on this under Joe Biden’s leadership. Cynical me. None of the scandals under Barack Obama has been prosecuted. But what is shocking is that they are so arrogant about the death of thousands of people, and they really don’t care. Another example, the magic “D” after your name will protect you.
I really sympathize with someone like Janice Dean, who lost her husband’s parents in a nursing home due to the virus after the order passed in New York. Many people who died in these states died in nursing homes. Thousands of people died in New York after the order was issued.
Now, while this is giving up any action based on the civil rights denial claims, this may not mean everything is closed, as revealed by Bill Hammond of the Empire Center.
FWIW, I was informed by the authority that the decision of the Department of Justice *not* affects the ongoing investigation of the Cuomo government by the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Manhattan. https://t.co/fSGLLpj1Ei

In October, the Department of Justice expanded its investigation in New York to cover private nursing homes and government-owned facilities under different regulations (the False Declaration Act). The letter to Scalise did not mention that angle, so I was curious about its state. https://t.co/T5ssXGQSHc

Let us hope. Because I don’t have much hope, in the Democratic Party’s New York-the attorney general’s investigation or impeachment proceedings-these two procedures will really bring Cuomo down. I think it must be the voters who let him step down in the end. Although this will not bring justice to those who have lost their loved ones, it will prevent his vicious reign from continuing.
Steve Scarlis is angry Regarding the decision of the Ministry of Justice today.
“It is outrageous that the Department of Justice refused to investigate the deadly’must admit’ orders issued by the governors of New York, Pennsylvania and Michigan, which resulted in the deaths of thousands of elderly people. Where is justice for nursing home victims and their grieving families? These deadly orders contradict the CDC’s guidance and unnecessarily endanger the most vulnerable among us from contracting the deadly COVID-19 virus. To make matters worse, New York Governor Cuomo deliberately tried to conceal the true number of deaths caused by his authorization Grieving families deserve answers and accountability. Biden’s Department of Justice refused to investigate fatal actions taken in these states that violated CDC medical guidance. This is unreasonable.”
