According to RKI, the incidence rate again exceeds 25

DThe 7-day incidence of coronavirus continues to rise.according to Robert Koch Institute (RKI) It was 25.1 this Wednesday morning. The value of the previous day was 23.5, and the value of a week ago was 18.5.

German health authorities reported 4996 cases of new crown infection to RKI in one day. A week ago, the number of infections in Germany was 3571.

To date, this incidence has been the basis for many corona restrictions in the pandemic, for example as part of the Federal Emergency Brake that expires at the end of June. In the future, more consideration will be given to other values such as hospital admission.

14 new deaths

According to new information, Germany recorded 14 deaths within 24 hours. 25 people died a week ago. The number of people who died or was confirmed to be infected with the Sars-CoV-2 virus rose to 91,817.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, RKI has detected 3,799,425 detected Sars-CoV-2 infections. Since many infections have not been detected, the actual total may be much higher. RKI stated that the number of people who have recovered is 3,671,800.

The vaccination rate may actually be higher

According to RKI, there is “a certain degree of uncertainty” in interpreting the vaccination quota data. According to a report from RKI on Tuesday, some considerations suggest that reports in the so-called digital vaccination rate monitoring (DIM) may underestimate vaccination rates. Especially among young and middle-aged people, the number of people receiving the first vaccine may be more than the official record.

DIM is based on reports from vaccination centers, hospitals, mobile vaccination teams, and company doctors; according to RKI, it also includes data from residents and private doctors. Together they form the basis of the so-called vaccination dashboard. There is another RKI survey called Covimo whose vaccination rate is extrapolated from the survey.

According to the report, the latest Covimo survey of approximately 1,000 adults from the end of June to mid-July revealed a difference from DIM. It turns out that the number of people who have been vaccinated at least once is “much higher”, especially in the 18 to 59 age group: although according to the reporting system, 79% of people in the survey said they were vaccinated but 59%. The authors of the report wrote that the actual vaccination rate is likely to fall between the values of the two sources.
