This is from James Timpson, The head of Timpson, a family-run high-street shoe repair company that is widely praised for its record of hiring former criminals. His brother Edward is a Conservative Party MP and former Minister of Children.
Instead of letting criminals wear high-waisted jackets in chain gangs, how about helping them find a real job? In my shop, we hired a lot of former criminals, they were wearing shirts and ties. The same person, different methods, the result is much better.
