Ikora Roberts and Nadine Coyle Once said they felt “total breakdown” over the death of their “Girls Loud” band members Sarah Harding At the age of 39.
The singer revealed in August last year that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer, which had spread to other parts of her body.
Her mother Mary announced her death Instagram On Sunday, she described her “beautiful” daughter as “a shining star.”
Roberts shared a series of photos of them together in the early years of Girls Aloud, and wrote: “I am completely destroyed, and I cannot accept that this day has come. My heart is aching, everything we experienced together all day Circled in my mind.
“Especially in the last year after she was diagnosed. Despite such a difficult year, our new memories are still strong in my heart.
“There are a lot of things to say, it feels very personal to put them here at first, and then I remember that there are many other people who are also sad for her.
“I or part of us no longer exists. It is unimaginable, painful and completely cruel. She will like your message today.”
Roberts described her teammate as an “electric girl” and added: “You gave everything and still smiled.
“A white butterfly flew through my window this morning. Before I knew it, it must be you.”
Coyle posted a picture of Harding smiling on Instagram and said she was “very shocked” by the news.
She added: “I can’t think of any words to express how I feel about this girl and what she means to me!!
“I know many of you feel that way. Now I want to send you so much love!!!”
Harding’s mother Mary announced her death on Sunday, in which she wrote: “Today I am very sad to share the news of the tragic death of my beautiful daughter Sarah.
“Many of you know about Sarah’s fight with cancer. She has been battling cancer from diagnosis to the last day. She slipped away peacefully this morning.
“I want to thank you all for your support over the past year.
“It means the whole world to Sarah, knowing that she is loved gives her immense strength and comfort.
“I know she doesn’t want to be remembered for her battle with this terrible disease-she is a shining star, and I hope this is how she is remembered by people.-Mary x”
Music manager Louis Walsh In 2002, he helped create “Girl Loud” on the ITV show “Pop Star: Competitor”, and he said that he would “like” Harding “very much”.
In a statement, he said: “It’s a shame that she is too young. She is always funny, the life and soul of the party.
“Anytime she came to Dublin in the early days, we would go to the Pod nightclub and we would be the last to leave.
“It’s too unfair. I hope she gets better. She is very funny and likes music, dancing and life. I will like her very much.”
Jerry Horner A member of the Spice Girls and a judge of The Rivals, she wrote on Twitter: “Rest in peace, Sarah Harding. The light and joy you bring to the world will be remembered.”
Former Big Brother host, Davina McCall wrote: “So sad to hear Sarah…the star who went from the beginning, the great fun and the outgoing but also inexplicably fragile… Love her family and friends.”
Earlier this year, Harding said that a doctor told her that she might not survive next Christmas.
In an excerpt from a memoir published by The Times, Harding wrote: “In December, my doctor told me that the upcoming Christmas could be my last Christmas.
“I don’t want an exact forecast. I don’t know why anyone wants that.
“For me now, comfort and as painless as possible are the most important things.”
Harding said she “strives to enjoy every second of my life, no matter how long it is.”
“I will drink a glass or two of wine during this time because it helps me relax,” she added.
“I believe some people may think this is not a good idea, but I want to try to enjoy myself.
“I’m at a stage now, I don’t know how many months I have left.
“Who knows, maybe I will surprise everyone, but this is how I look at things.”
Harding said that publicly revealing her diagnosis was “terrible”, but it was also “the right thing to do.”
She said the support she received was “incredible” and added: “I was overwhelmed by the lovely messages from fans. For this, my gratitude is beyond words.”
