AInsights: Executive insights into the latest generation of artificial intelligence…

As a keynote speaker, I speak with senior executives from a variety of industries, with varying levels of technical sophistication and curiosity. A few years ago, I would ask the audience, “How many of you believe that artificial intelligence will replace jobs?”

Almost everyone raises their hand.

Then I ask, “How many of you believe that artificial intelligence will replace your jobs?”

Almost every hand goes down.

I tried this again at a recent conference in Italy.

This time, everyone raised their hands.

So when you read a headline like “Generative AI will be smarter than humans by 2030,” I can only imagine the panic or anxiety that might arise. I also imagine that, at the same time, curiosity, imagination and ambition may come with it.

Of course, generative AI has reportedly Passed (or breaking) the Turing test. GenAI has also passed some important CPA and BAR exams and other academic tests.

Will this make genAI tools like ChatGPT smart? Yes.

Does this reduce your value? No, not in any way.

Let's put this all in perspective, though, because if anything, before ChatGPT became the second-fastest-growing technology, reaching 100 million users, the path we were on was one without artificial intelligence. Now, in the world of artificial intelligence, each of us needs to re-evaluate where we are now, where we want to go, who we want to be, and how artificial intelligence can help us achieve these goals.

Artificial intelligence is already as smart as Elon Musk

Mo Gawdat, former Chief Business Officer of Google X, both professionally and personally Work I admire very much, recently in Nordic Business Forum. I watched every minute of it.

During his presentation, he stated that ChatGPT 4’s current IQ is estimated to be around 155. He compared this intelligence to Elon Musk, whose IQ is estimated to be between 155-180.

He then discusses the rapid development of generative artificial intelligence and its exponential acceleration toward “10x.” For example, he outlined that the performance difference between ChatGPT 3x and 4 is about 10x. He then proposed a similar path to ChatGPT 5, 6, etc.

As you'll see in the video, Gawdat explains how theoretically within a few years we could achieve genAI at an IQ level equivalent to about 1,500+.

“This is the end of the innovation our brains do, because the smartest person in the room is the one who invents everything and makes all the decisions,” Gundam said on stage.

But wait, don’t panic just yet. Optimism and foresight are crucial now.

Gundam is not alone in this view.

NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang also said expected In 5 years, artificial intelligence will be smarter than humans.

“If I gave an artificial intelligence… every test you can imagine, and you made a list of tests and put it in front of the computer science industry, I guess five years from now, we would be pretty good at every one of them. What a good person,” Huang said.

At the 2024 Stanford University Economic Policy Research Summit in Palo Alto, Huang also predicted that artificial general intelligence (AGI) could arrive in just five years. This will usher in an era of artificial intelligence that thinks like humans, surpassing the current level Wave 2 GenAI, acquires information and generates new information.

What's his point?

Button it in.

Artificial intelligence will also continue to develop. We're going to see it become more effective overall and more capable vertically.

This is not just the beginning of change, we also need to define the role we want to play in it.

In the face of every disruption, I believe ignorance and arrogance equal irrelevance.

AI yes Will be the smartest technology in the room. No ego, prejudice or ignorant mentality should deny this. The question is, what are you going to do?

Artificial intelligence will continue to develop. How do you learn to use artificial intelligence or not define your future.

If you’re waiting for someone else to tell you what to do, you’re on the wrong side of transformation and innovation.

Change starts with you.

This is a moment of resilience. It's also a time of optimism.

At the Stanford Summit, Huang also emphasized the need for resilience and being prepared to experiment and fail.

“Unfortunately, resilience is critical to success,” he said. “I don't know how to teach you unless I want pain to happen to you.”

His point is that building resilience is critical to defining success, especially at a time when the future of artificial intelligence raises more questions than answers.

Sam Altman of OpenAI also believes that determination is the most important trait for entrepreneurs. Instead of emphasizing talent or IQ, he doubled down on courage and perseverance in the face of the unknown.

The truth is we don’t know what we don’t know. Intense anxiety about the unknown is a waste of energy. Instead, go into the unknown and become part of the solution. Bring clarity and dynamics to every question and every step. With enough movement, motivation develops.

There are two ways forward. Open your mind to see the parallel between iteration and innovation. In terms of artificial intelligence, it helps to break it down like this…

automation: Use artificial intelligence to make your work more efficient. Use artificial intelligence to make your work more efficient.

Enhancement: Use artificial intelligence to try jobs that were previously impossible or not thought of.

Together you create the recipe for iteration and ultimate innovation.

If I could share some advice, it would be to question the old ways.

Everything is business as usual, fate is sealed.

In a world where the best way to work, powered by artificial intelligence, has yet to be determined, just because that’s the way things have always been done doesn’t mean much. Remember, artificial intelligence is available to everyone now and over time. Not everything is worth automating. Some things need to be reinvented to compete. That's what makes these times so incredible.

This is why resilience is critical. But along with resilience, optimism is also a key ally to success.

These are truly incredible times. How you view them directly affects your perspective, what you see, and therefore what you do differently.

Ultraman recently described the moment as one of incredible opportunity.

“Outside of all the years to come, this year is the most interesting in human history,” he said.

With new ways of thinking, every step of the way, you'll discover ways to do new things, ultimately making old things obsolete.

my friend Damish ShahThe HubSpot co-founder recently said, “You’re going to compete with artificial intelligence.”

What fascinates me so much is his basic point.

He did not issue a statement. This is a provocation.

How do you listen?

You compete with artificial intelligence.

Have you heard that artificial intelligence is competing with you?

Or, have you heard that you can compete more effectively with artificial intelligence.

In this new world, “competing with artificial intelligence” is how you shape your future and the future of work and business.

AI = Augmented Intelligence.

Let us “work with” AI to create a new and better future!

When in doubt, keep this in mind…

yes. Do. get.
