I'm deeply sorry for the outage earlier today. My web server hosting provider (Render) is experiencing a major outage. Within ten minutes, I received hundreds of notifications from the bug tracking service:

To thwart this attack and prevent myself from exceeding the service's quota, I decided to kill the server until the underlying problem was resolved.

Sometimes I'm amazed at how effective “this internet thing” is! SwingTradeBot relies on about a dozen different platforms, data providers, and APIs to function. I'm sure many of them have their own upstream dependencies. Like “Turtle all the way down“

It's been about 18 months since I moved the site to my current provider and their reliability has been excellent. They occur rarely and usually last less than 5 minutes. Hopefully we won't see anything like this again. But don't worry, if reliability becomes an issue I will move to another platform.
