An August 3 article in The Guardian declared that “Donald Trump’s proto-fascism poses the greatest internal threat to American democracy since the Civil War. What should we do? Fight it, the sooner the better.” December Notes recorded during the phone call with Acting Attorney General Jeffrey Rosen on the 27th confirmed that Trump had asked the U.S. Department of Justice to falsely declare that the election was fraudulent and stolen from him. For the first time in history, a US president planned to launch a coup to illegally take over the government. So far, the legal system has allowed him to go unpunished!

The Guardian article called on the Department of Justice to take legal action against Trump on the grounds that “Trump called the acting attorney general on December 27, and he argued that “just talk about election corruption + leave the rest to me”—it should be Article 3, which triggers some of the 14th amendment, prohibits any person who “participates in the rebellion” against the United States from holding public office. The current U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland should issue an advisory opinion that clearly states this. Trump wants to take it to the Supreme Court, that’s good.”

Obviously, with the support of Senator Mitch McConnell and most Republican congressmen, Trump continues to plan a coup against the United States. By claiming that the election was stolen and refusing to admit that he lost, he prevented a peaceful transition of power for the first time since the beginning of our democracy. There has never been a deposed president actively trying to legitimize the incumbent and fairly elected president and undermining his successful performance of his duties to serve the American people. The words used to describe Trump around the world are traitors, traitors, criminals, fascists, anti-socialists, circus bucks, cult leaders, incompetent, rebels, and liars. Every other day there will be more evidence of his illegal and unethical attempts to steal elections. Fortunately, Republicans in important positions ignored Trump’s corrupt orders. However, if he stays, he will use things like “The Pillow Man”, Roger Stone, Marjorie Taylor-Green, Matt Gates, and some white supremacist insurgents he calls patriots. Accomplices to replace these political patriots.

Supported Trump after two impeachment trials, one of which 1) revealed unquestionable evidence that he tried to bribe foreign leaders to interfere in the 2020 election, announced an investigation into Joe Biden’s non-existent corruption, and 2) Inciting mobs to attack the Capitol, the purpose is to prevent Congress from proving that Joe Biden won the presidential election. Most Americans know that Trump has tried to manipulate, steal or overthrow every election he participated in. He accused those who defeated him or opposed him for blatantly committing election crimes. Anyone who still supports Trump’s sanctions against the end of democracy, supports American dictatorship, supports rebellions and coups, knows nothing about the Constitution, is a hypocrite, prefers dictatorship, is a cult rather than a patriot.

The United States is in trouble. One of its two parties lies, believes in conspiracy theories, advocates rude and indecent leadership, and agrees to allow the president and any member of the party to violate the U.S. Constitution. Trump’s attempt to overturn the results of the US presidential election should be his last attack on the United States that he escaped by chance. Democrats must bravely stop Trump and his white supremacy and authoritarian movement. Merrick Garland must be forced to sue Trump for every act of treason against the United States. Forget the Republican Party. The party should be renamed to reflect its corruption.

These latest memos issued by the U.S. Department of Justice prove that every phone call Trump made to state officials after losing re-election by an overwhelming advantage was to overturn the result. He asked them to declare false accusations of fraud, to “find” votes to turn his loss into a victory, and to support a false recount of votes by dubious non-professionals in swing states. He allied with dictators, defied allies, disregarded the Constitution, lied, promoted conspiracy theories, encouraged racists, and used donations from the U.S. Treasury and donors to his personal bank account.

Just enough. Merrick Garland, don’t be cowardly like Robert Mueller! Sue Trump and his cronies and supporters, because no one should be above the law!
