If you’re even a bit like me, you’ll find satisfaction in: a good cleaning fluffing the folds in the carpet, relieving a bit of nagging OCD from that renegade kitten kibble, trying to escape your robot Roommates, and oh, so subtle, the color of the sofa cushions changes once the rabbit dander has been eradicated.

Okay, maybe you don’t have a rabbit, but we can all use at least a little extra swagger when sweeping, so I’m looking forward to the arrival of Aspiron’s AS-CA006 Variable Speed Canister Vacuum.
It arrived in cardboard bliss without bumps or bruises.
I appreciate the use of recyclable packaging.
Powering the Aspiron AS-CA006 Variable Speed Vacuum Tank is a 5 m (16.5 ft) retractable cord. Extending the cord is just a pull, but depending on the surface the can sits on, you may find it necessary to place a steady hand on the body of the vacuum to prevent it from taking it for a walk.
Press a large button and the power cord retracts.
The power switch is large enough to be pressed with your foot even if you’re not part of Radio City Rockettes.
The canister is equipped with a large rear wheel that swivels effortlessly but doesn’t cause the vacuum to fly away when pulling on the hose
A single swivel caster on the bottom of the Aspiron AS-CA006 Variable Speed Canister Vacuum ensures it follows where you go.
The hose connects to the vacuum body with a satisfying click. Sometimes I find that once connected, some plastic parts tend not to want to come apart again. Not so with Aspiron vacuums. I appreciate not having to fight with the parts to disassemble them for storage.
I absolutely love telescopic rods. A latch on the side makes it easy to extend or retract. The grooves on the wand housing lock securely in place. It’s sturdy but easy to change without being a hassle.
Assembling the Aspiron AS-CA006 Variable Speed Canister Vacuum was painless. The crevice nozzle, trim brush and small brush attachments are all friction fits. Like the hose, the attachment is comfortable but not “stuck”. The vacuum body has no onboard storage for hand tools.
Start with the “Pet Powermate” nozzle, which isn’t electric, but the vacuum suction spins a turbine inside that drives the brush bar. I was pleasantly surprised by the speed of the spin and used it to remove dander from my rabbit’s favorite chair.
The rubber brush on the Pet PowerMate can be rotated to the side by unlocking the latch on the side. This gives the brush strip more contact with the surface being cleaned, and should be fine for car floor mats that are full of boot grime during long winters.
Initially, I was a little concerned that hair and sticky substances would end up inhibiting the rotation of the Pet PowerMate brushes, but it would be nice to see if it could be completely removed for cleaning.
I used a small brush to clean around the spindle of the chair. Everything is fine here!
The crevice tool can pull hair from between the cushions of our sofa. It’s on the short side, but still works.
The trim brush has a pair of red burrs on the leading and trailing edges of the attachment. The nozzle worked great on my pad, but with a swivel brush, the “Pet PowerMate” brush worked even better.
The sweeping head of the Aspiron AS-CA006 Variable Speed Canister Vacuum is not electric. The upstairs of my house is almost all hardwood, so no big deal. No motorized head means no wires running through the hose, fewer mechanical parts and fewer mistakes.
There is a large switch on top of the floor nozzle that retracts the brushes on the bow and the squeegee on the stern to help with sweeping.
I was impressed with the amount of bunny and hair the brush caught. Well done, Aspiron!
The floor cleaning head can be stored on board when not in use.
On the maiden voyage, I swept three medium-sized rooms, one with carpet and two with hardwood floors. Even though my Neato vac passed through these rooms a few hours ago, the amount of debris that the AS-CA006 pulled into the bin was quite impressive.
In a few uses of the hand tools and floor cleaning head, the suction created by the vacuum was enough to lift the mats and rugs from where they rested. The “Awesome Power” of “Mr.” from The Simpsons. Sparkle” ad comes to mind.
If pulling rugs out of your vacuum’s mouth isn’t your cup of tea, Aspiron has figured it out – there’s a variable-speed control dial on top of the canister. This works great. The reduced flow is ideal for delicate surfaces such as dusting houseplants, curtains and lamp shades. Yes, I use a vacuum cleaner. I told you I’m a neat freak. do not judge me.
After hungering for wayward sesame seeds, sidewalk gravel, pajama line, and the occasional pushpin, the dust container unlocks and flips effortlessly, releasing its capture. The positioning of the handle is ideal.
Behind the bin of the Aspiron AS-CA006 Variable Speed Canister Vacuum is the vacuum cleaner and HEPA filter. I especially appreciate the easy removal of the filter. No tools, no complications, no fuss, they come out with the bin. This is a valid design.
There is also a HEPA filter on the rear of the canister, which can be removed by releasing the button on the lid.
The vacuum can be carried vertically or horizontally using the handle on top of the bin or can. The weight of the vacuum is comfortable, and my 88-pound vacuum can handle it with ease.
If you happen to notice moisture in the litter box, don’t worry. I developed it for photos.

Aspiron’s AS-CA006 canister vacuum is an exceptional value, with powerful suction and great utility. I was attracted by the simple design, easy assembly and easy maintenance. No doubt I will use this machine to exile dirt to the Land of the Wind Ghosts.
