Review – For a long time, my friends and I have been arguing about wired headphones or wireless headphones. I have been wireless for a while, and he has finally succumbed to the dark side recently. Although the Beyerdynamic MMX 150 gaming headset was wired, it was enough to entice me to check them and almost brought me back to the light.

Design and features
When setting up the headset, the first and only thing I do is to decide which cable to use. The USB-A to USB-C cable has the most functions overall, so I chose that one. However, if needed, it does have a USB-C to 3.5 mm cable.

Although the Beyerdynamic MMX 150 gaming headset is available in black and gray, I am very happy to get the light-colored model because it is different from the standard I am used to. They ended up turning into a light gray, and I prefer this color because they don’t look very dirty after months of use. The orange accent is also very good.
The microphone is detachable, but honestly, unless I have a very high-quality microphone to replace it, I don’t want to disassemble it. I was very surprised by the microphone quality of this headset. Without my knowledge, a friend picked up these exact headsets and had a voice chat with a group of people. Everyone commented on how good his voice is, and I was shocked when I heard that he has been using this headset! The quality of its headset microphone is definitely 10/10.

At first, the comfort of earmuffs took a while to get used to. My friend even agreed. However, after a week of wear and tear, they broke into a place where they felt good. They are very light and flexible, although they definitely feel like they are made of plastic. Even so, they were thrown several times and have persisted until now.
There is a button/dial pad on the side of the left earpiece. This button is used as the volume control knob, mute button, and boost mode. Press once, the orange indicator light will turn red, indicating that the headset is now muted. Press and hold the dial button a little longer and it will enter the enhanced mode, just like reverse noise reduction. You can hear outside sounds more easily. This is useful if you are in the room with people talking to you or children running around.
The sound quality of the Beyerdynamic MMX 150 gaming headset is quite good. Not as good as a microphone, but with a microphone, the sound quality/price ratio seems very worthwhile. Footsteps can be heard, the sound is clear, and the music and video sound good. There is a difference between the rumbling bass of a grenade and the midrange sound of a car engine. The treble in the music video is nice. Not outstanding, but still very good. Someone can easily use these for daily use, and they sound great, listen well, and play smoothly. Since there is no special software to install, almost anyone can use them directly, and for someone like me who uses a PC for streaming, there will be fewer applications running.
what do I like
- Amazing microphone
- Good sound quality
- Long USB cable
Areas for improvement
- A little more foam will be perfect
Final thoughts
In general, despite being a wired headset, the Beyerdynamic MMX 150 gaming headset makes my other headset worth the money. In the end, I decided to stick to my wireless version, but only because I have a Yeti microphone. If you are looking for a headset with a very good microphone and suitable for wired, I would recommend the Beyerdynamic MMX 150 gaming headset without hesitation.
