The United States has been desperately trying to evacuate people from Kabul Airport in Afghanistan.
There are so many people and the demand for planes is so great that Joe Biden even ordered a private airline about a week ago to provide planes to help with this process.
The Pentagon said on Sunday that it has ordered American commercial airlines to provide aircraft to help speed up the evacuation from Afghanistan.
These planes will not fly to Kabul, but will be used to transport those who have already flown out of Kabul to military bases or transit stations in Europe and the Middle East. The Pentagon says this will allow military aircraft to focus on operations in and out of the Afghan capital.
The Ministry of National Defense launched the Civilian Reserve Aviation Fleet, a nearly 70-year-old plan created after the Berlin Airlift. It aims to provide commercial air carriers with a reserve force for “major defense emergencies”. This is the third time CRAF has been activated. Previously, it was used during the Iraq War in the early 1990s and early 2000s.
Therefore, every military aircraft is urgently needed to help evacuate.
But it turns out that despite the national security emergency, a military aircraft is still in use elsewhere, and Energy Minister Jennifer Granholm also chartered it to Ukraine for a diplomatic summit last Monday.
“As President Biden said recently, we are in a’dangerous winter’, so it is disturbing to see government officials basically driving on military planes. This is the definition of fraud, waste and abuse,” National Law Said Tom Anderson, director of the Public Integrity Program at the Center for Policy and Policy.
The White House confirmed to the Liberty Beacon that Granholm used a military flight and defended it as a “standard agreement” because Granholm was present at the event as an important person representing the president. [….]
“Standard operating procedures do not apply during national security crises; these moments require judgment,” a former Trump administration official told Liberty Beacon. “The fact that the White House chose to send a cabinet member overseas for non-mission-necessary visits, unnecessarily diverting resources from the State Department and the Department of Defense, is absurd, let alone misusing taxpayers’ money.”
The official added that the military charter plane “needs refueling and personnel support at military bases such as Ramstein Air Force Base, which is currently used to transport and house thousands of people fleeing Afghanistan.”
This is usually wrong and is worth investigating. But especially in an emergency, Biden approved her to use this aircraft to participate in a non-essential summit, and she shouldn’t even use a military aircraft to fly there.
Why? When he is doing such things at the same time, why does he order private airlines to be put into use? There is no reason for such absurd use of military jets. So far, the Department of Energy has refused to answer the reasons for all this.
